If you listed the major PC strategy games from the past that you would really, really like to play today on modern PC’s, with a few enhancements, the list would probably feature titles like Age of Empires, Empire Earth and Stronghold.

Empires Apart aims to be precisely that. Its goal is to re-capture the excitement and wonder of collecting resources, building an army and leading it to victory. It’s a throwback, but with a modern twist. It takes snippets from MOBAs, hints from MMORPGs, but wants to be Age of Empires at heart.

We have started beta testing recruitment with this new video introducing the 6 playable factions we will have at release (French, Byzantine, Mongols, Chinese, Aztecs and Arabs).
