'Frostpunk' Delayed Until 2018

by Rainier on Sept. 20, 2017 @ 5:26 p.m. PDT

A steampunk-themed strategy game on a frozen world, Frostpunk asks what choices you would be willing to make and how far could you bend morality to stay alive.

The premise begins by imagining what society is capable of when pushed to the limit. In a completely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. Society in its current form becomes ineffective and it has to change in order to survive. What does this change mean? What is culture when morality stands in the way of existence? In the end, survival may transform us completely. Whether that change makes us better or worse, stronger or weaker, or even more or less humane is debatable.

Frostpunk to be released early 2018!

Why did we decide to postpone the release? Listen, the answer is and will always be the same. We create games because we love it. And to share this love and not to exclude anyone from this experience - we want to deliver Frostpunk globally, with 7 languages supported on the release (English, German, French, Russian, Chinese, Spanish and Polish) - and quality localisations take time.

Besides that - the plan is not only to release a digital copy of the game - but also ship a glorious retail box edition! And yes, we would love to create some kind of limited collector's editions as well - stay tuned for more info about that! However, all these cool, additional features are quite time-consuming and we hope that you will understand our perspective here.

Now please, don't kill us.
