'Crossout' (ALL) Update Adds New Faction, Tech, PVE Raid, Locations

by Rainier on Sept. 21, 2017 @ 1:07 p.m. PDT

Set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by an alien invasion and human genetic testing gone awry, Crossout is a new team based multiplayer vehicle combat game.

Crossout tests players’ creativity in building, upgrading and customizing deadly armored vehicles to destroy enemies in open player vs player combat.

No two vehicles in Crossout are the same, as players can create any kind of combat vehicle from the speediest buggy to the heaviest of off-road vehicles to reflect their warrior sense of gameplay. Offering complete customization, Crossout gives players thousands of possibilities to design their vehicle, including shape, armor, weapons, support systems and, cosmetic enhancements. Visit your own garage to build new advanced mechanisms and sell them via the in-game auction system.

Players also have multiple options when it comes to mass destruction - combat vehicles can be equipped with an explosive range of weapons from chainsaws, power drills and machine guns, to rocket launchers, flying drones and stealth generators. Featuring an advanced damage model, destroy any part of an enemy machine and it will affect that vehicle's performance.

Crossout v0.8.0 update introduces the Dawn’s Children, a group of ruthless scientists, it adds the sixth faction contending the rule of the wastelands and the second new faction introduced since launch. Their equipment includes advanced technology such as hover engines and tesla cannons, new cabins and structural parts. Additionally, two new locations and a new PvE raid are also added.

«Dawn’s Children»: Ruthless Scientists With Advanced Technology

Founded by a group of talented scientists able to escape the devastating effects of the Crossout epidemic, the Dawn’s Children feature the most advanced technology in Crossout to date. The most prominent example of their technological prowess is their widespread use of hover engines, allowing their combat vehicles to float above any surface - if you can keep control. Engines disabled by enemy fire or even the powerful recoil of one’s own cannons can all affect stability if not taken care of, so proper R&D in test drive is advisable before going into battle. Those that want to remain firm on the ground can switch to the new “Lunar IV” all-metal wheels, once designed to explore the harsh terrain of the Red Planet and other celestial bodies - luckily, in this case, the wastelands are not that different.

The arsenal of new weapons introduced by the Dawn’s Children is a perfect mix of frightening new technology and the ingenuity of improvisation. The tesla cannon “Spark III” can attack multiple enemies at once with chain lightning, while the plasma emitter “Quasar” launches powerful balls of hot plasma that explode on impact with a frightening splash damage effect. For close quarters combat, the scientists employ cooled combat lasers capable of continuous fire without overheating. New modules include an advanced sight that can highlight and track enemies, the most powerful and dangerous energy generator, a shield generator and 15 other new parts.

New PvE Raid: Chase

In Crossout’s newest PvE raid Chase, players have to intercept valuable cargo before it reaches its final destination. Carried by two heavily armed transports, the cargo can only be obtained if the team works together and chooses the perfect moment to strike - ideally when the transport’s powerful cannons are recharging. At the same time, players have to defend themselves from hordes of rival raiders, which may not be well armed, but are still more than capable to derail a carefully timed attack plan.

New Locations “Cursed Mines” and “Broken Arrow”

Two new and challenging locations await the players of Crossout v0.8.0. Cursed Mines is a labyrinth of mines and dugouts, an ideal place for ambushes and surprise attacks. Survivors are advised to travel in groups and always monitor their radar!  On Broken Arrow, the site of a former spaceport, the main battle unfolds around the neutral base in the center of the map, surrounded by mountains and accessed by a variety of tunnels. Snipers are well advised to take position on one of the many hills and keep an eye on the tunnel exits.

Key Features:

  • Unique vehicles, crafted by the players using a wide range of available parts: from nimble buggies to heavily tracked off-road vehicles or combat platforms on antigrav fields.
