Call of Duty returns to the greatest military conflict in history and where the franchise first began, World War II, letting players enlist in an unforgettable journey of brotherhood across the European theatre in a mission vital to the success of the Allied powers.

The all-new Call of Duty delivers gritty realism, authenticity and cinematic intensity on an epic scale.  In addition to the game’s boots-on-the-ground combat, Multiplayer offers a host of new mode, system and gameplay innovations across iconic map locations; while an all-new Nazi Zombies Cooperative mode unleashes a startling, new storyline and adrenaline filled experience.

Call of Duty: WWII has been a journey of inspiration and passion for everyone at Sledgehammer Games. The team is dedicated to delivering on the intense nature of war that focuses on the heroism and sacrifice of soldiers in WWII. Our rich narrative driven, action-packed campaign, and engaging and innovative multiplayer experience immerse players into the boots of a soldier fighting for freedom in a world on the brink of tyranny.  And, our co-operative mode delivers a unique storyline that’s an all-new take on Nazi Zombies that we think fans are going to love,” said Michael Condrey, Studio Head and Co-Founder of Sledgehammer Games.

Call of Duty: WWII takes the franchise back to its roots in a bold cinematic experience that captures the unforgettable heroism of the soldiers who fought together in a war that changed the world forever.  Activision’s gripping new title is an honest portrayal of World War II from the perspective of the famed 1st Infantry Division, with an ensemble cast of global and diverse characters. Through stunning visuals and intense audio, players storm the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, march across France to liberate Paris and ultimately push forward into Germany in some of the most monumental battles of all-time.

Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer combat immerses players in grounded, fast-paced action featuring an arsenal of authentic weapons and equipment, set in some of the most iconic locations in World War II’s European theatre.  Multiplayer also delivers a new approach to character and create-a-class through Divisions, War, an all-new narrative multiplayer mode of play, and Headquarters, a first of its kind for the Call of Duty social community, designed for players to interact and socialise with friends.  The definitive World War II next generation experience also introduces Nazi Zombies, an all-new cooperative mode featuring a unique standalone storyline set during World War II that’s full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping action.

The Resistance is the latest community event to come to Call of Duty: WWII! This five-week event highlights the resistance fighters in World War II. Beginning on January 23 and lasting until February 27, The Resistance community event has something for everyone, as it will bring with it a brand-new Division, new game modes, new gear, free supply drops and more!

Starting today, PROP HUNT is coming to Call of Duty: WWII! You’ll need to use your expert sleuthing skills to find players disguised as objects hiding out around the map. For props, stealth is crucial to survival.

Next week players can get their hands on The Resistance DLC Pack 1, launching on PS4 on January 30th. It includes 3 new maps, a new War Mode experience, and the latest chapter in Nazi Zombies - The Darkest Shore. The Resistance DLC Pack 1 is available for all Season Pass holders.

NEW DIVISION – RESISTANCE

The Resistance is an all-new playable and permanent Division added to multiplayer, available to all players, starting on January 23. This Division focuses on the element of surprise and close-quarters combat.

Once fully-leveled up, Resistance skills will include a Pistol Tactical Knife combo, the ability to scramble nearby enemy mini-maps, an additional pistol attachment, and a mini-map indicator in the direction of nearby hostiles. The Resistance Division also includes a new pistol, which can be used by all Divisions, the 9mm SAP pistol.

NEW GAME MODES – DEMOLITION AND PROP HUNT

In addition to Gun Game, which will be returning during The Resistance, players can enjoy two new Call of Duty: WWII game modes at different times during the event.

Demolition: Continuing with the Resistance theme, Demolition is a spin on Search & Destroy with respawns available. Faster-paced and more accessible, this classic favorite will return for two weeks during The Resistance.

Prop Hunt: This fan-favorite game mode also makes its debut in Call of Duty: WWII, as players will have the opportunity to hide in plain site as objects, while the enemy team hunts them down.

CAPTAIN BUTCHER RETURNS – WITH NEW GEAR
The Resistance signifies the return of Captain Butcher, and this time he has returned from aiding the Resistance on the front lines. He has an all-new Resistance-themed look, and has brought some new gear secured by these freedom fighters back with him. With new promotions and contracts, Captain Butcher is back to help players get their hands on new loot and survive on the front lines.

NEW WEAPONS

In addition to new Collections of Resistance-styled gear, players can also obtain new weapons via Orders from Major Howard. These include a new assault rifle: the Volkssturmgewehr, the Orso: a new SMG, and a new melee weapon: the Combat Knife.

FREE SUPPLY DROPS

The Resistance will also provide some free loot for your loadout. Players can receive a free Resistance Supply Drop every week during The Resistance, simply by logging in. Players can earn a total of five Resistance Supply Drop by logging in during each week of the event, and note that free Supply Drops do not carry over, so you must log in to redeem them each week.
