'Conqueror's Blade' Beta Test Scheduled For This Month, Shows Off Big World System - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Jan. 8, 2018 @ 4:09 a.m. PST

Combining both heroic action combat with tactical troop maneuvers, Conqueror's Blade allows players to experience authentic medieval warfare as they command fearsome armies.

Booming Games' proprietary engine, CHAOS, delivers a seamless experience, even with thousands of troops onscreen at once, as well as authentic effects, such as fire and explosions, and diverse weather events, including thunderstorms and sandstorms. Stunningly detailed graphics replicate the weapons, armor and equipment of actual medieval troops. The game requires strategic thinking and skillful use of resources, as players must deploy the best army for the battle at hand from a wide selection of both Eastern and Western Legions, powerful Generals, and thousands of weapons.

Battles are fought in a vast sandbox landscape several thousand kilometers wide, where players seek to conquer lands and reign over their own Kingdom. Mirroring our own world the terrain features high mountains, deep rivers and fierce deserts, and populated by a variety of nations and cultures. Players may acquire territory to build their own House and Kingdom and fight to defend them. With 5v5 and 15v15 battles available, the PvP warfare in Conqueror's Blade will challenge even the boldest warriors. Generals begin with 3 or 4 skills, so players learn gradually the best strategies for deploying their Legions, and which weapons to use for each battle, as some are designed for solo skirmishes while others shine in group warfare.

Booming Games confirmed a January launch date for the upcoming beta test for Conqueror's Blade.

Conqueror's Blade recreates vast medieval civilizations and showcases their legendary weapons and fighting styles in a massive, immersive arena of war where players team up to command powerful armies in the pursuit of territory and glory. The developer also offered a more detailed look at the Big World system that immerses players in a realistic environment and offers its own challenges.

The "Big World" of Conqueror's Blade is made up of the game world map and its cities and resources. The world provides players with the resources they will need at each stage to become stronger, such as training forces to build an army or producing equipment for it. Some resources are designed for cultivation and others for grazing, and players must occupy the cities or areas where the resource is produced in order to procure it, so gathering sufficient resources is the player's first concern. The environment in Conqueror's Blade operates quite similarly our own and will influence gameplay, with days and nights, weather systems and landforms that influence speed of travel. The designers carefully studied real-world maps and geography to ensure an accurate representation in the game.

Clan wars will be active in the Beta and the borders of each territory will expand or contract as a result of the battles. Players acting as soldiers in the game will be able to see the status of territory borders as they travel throughout the game world during a clan war, just as in real-life conflicts, so players must be alert and ready to fight at any time!
