'World of Tanks' (ALL) Celebrates Upcoming v1.0 With Week-long In-Game Events

by Rainier on March 2, 2018 @ 3:40 p.m. PST

In World Of Tanks player teams are fighting action-packed PvP battles, featuring more than 150 armored fighting vehicles from the pre-WW2 era up to the Korean War.

World Of Tanks is a team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with other steel cowboys all over the world. Your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

Ride the legendary Tiger tank, or choose the fast-and-furious Soviet T-34, practice your sharp-shooting skills with the American 155mm M40 Gun Motor Carriage or try experimental/prototype machines such as the Germany's monstrous Maus tank. A Player can have an endless number of tanks in "garage", and all machines can be upgraded in dozens of ways: better turrets, chassis, guns, engines, radios, various ammunition types, plus tank crew members can be leveled up as well.

Get ready for Update 1.0 with the Countdown to WoT 1.0 marathon! Log in each day March 1-20 to complete new missions and earn consumables and XP boosts. Complete missions to win daily and weekly prizes, all leading to a Countdown overall prize!

To get the rewards for both the Private and Veteran missions at once, you only need to complete the Veteran mission. However, if you finish the Private mission (with Tier IV-VII) and want to later tackle the Veteran difficulty, you will get the rewards for the latter but not the Private mission again.

Update 1.0 will overhaul the game’s underlying technological base with an advanced CORE graphics engine. Together with this major uplift, over 25 World of Tanks maps are getting redesigned to meet modern graphical standards. Each map will have a distinguished flair and provide even deeper immersion thanks to dynamic music, authentic soundtracks, and atmospheric ambience.

The in-house developed CORE engine brings a complete visual makeover, adding greater depth, beauty and realism to battlefields with no adverse effect on the game’s performance. Terrain, water, flora, skies, and environments on recreated maps get bolstered with the latest physically based rendering tech and support a variety of new and improved effects. Space is more realistically illuminated and battlefields feel more dynamic and active thanks to improved shading and lighting models, responsive water, and realistic terrain textures.

Update 1.0 doesn’t just focus on how World of Tanks looks and feels, but how it sounds. Each map will have its own main theme that resonates with its setting and changes dynamically depending on what is happening in combat. From Caucasus themes with Gregorian chanting to Arabic compositions featuring national instruments, Wargaming teamed up with over 40 musicians from all around the world to create a unique atmospheric, authentic sound for each battlefield.
