'Memories of Mars' Shows Off Character Customization, Mantis - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on March 7, 2018 @ 1:01 a.m. PST

Memories of Mars takes the player to the fourth rock from the sun where you must traverse the harsh landscape, fight off known and unknown carbon based life forms and build whatever you can, all in order to survive the desolate wasteland of the Red Planet.

100 years in the future, something happened on Mars. Once frequently visited, it is now abandoned with some left behind.

Memories of Mars is an open world survival game set on the abandoned mining operations in the red planet, as the dream of exploiting and colonizing Mars has proven impossible. You play as a recently awoken clone who learns its lifespan is limited by the lethal solar flares that hit the surface of the planet every few weeks.

Memories of Mars will thrust players into the barren wastelands of the Red Planet where they must explore the unforgiving landscape, build a habitable homestead and fight to survive against a variety of dangers including harsh environmental elements, strange enemy NPC’s and perhaps the most dangerous of all, other human survivors.

Explore and Survive the Red Planet.

The Mantis is found everywhere on Mars, it moves fast and it can enter buildings.

Character customization is a highly anticipated and well received feature in Memories of Mars. You can quickly access it by pressing the customization button in your inventory menu.

With our entirely open and free system, players will be able to create, choose and apply a variety of colors and patterns to their character. Using our easy to understand slider system, players can start customizing their look from day one. Just find the exact colors you want, pick a pattern and hit apply.

Players looking to specialize down the artisan route, will have access to even more wild and unique patterns and color options the deeper they go into the tree. Going one step further, artisan players will also be able to unlock the ability to customize entire player bases.

This means the walls, the doors, windows, everything. You can set those color patterns to your base.

This really allows individuals and clans alike to make their mark on Mars.

Key Features:

  • EXPLORE AND DISCOVER – Explore over 16 KM2 of the Martian landscape complete with deserts, craters, canyons, rocky planes, and mesas. Visit over 85 points of interest including abandoned towns, mines, industrial facilities, biodomes and vehicles.
  • SURVIVE – Look after basic needs including health, stamina, nutrition, body temperature and oxygen.
  • FIGHT –Encounter and fight against unique NPCs and competing players that are always looking to interrupt your adventures. These NPCs are strange enemies left over from previous, failed, colonization efforts. Now they’ve gone rogue, and you’ll need to fend them off.
  • BUILD – Building your own base will be a cornerstone of your gameplay experience. Build a small base on your own, or collaborate and build a much larger base. Either way, a base is required to for the ultimate project – surviving Mars!
  • EVENTS & FLOPS – Memories of Mars contains a unique system of in-game events where players will converge and try to survive these events and thereby collect Flops. There are multiple ways to collect Flops, but beware because other players can rob, kill and loot your Flops.

As a special token of thanks, players who sign up and opt-in via the official game website will receive an exclusive in-game pattern, and the blueprint for a CZ 457 rifle. The pattern will signify players as part of a core group of fans and it can be applied to equipment, armor, and weapons.  The CZ 457 blueprint will help players kickstart their journey and give them a step up from the standard issue pistol. Once obtained, players can produce as many rifles as their storage bins will hold. These are available for a limited time, now through the Early Access Launch. Visit the website and sign up today!
