'Raiders of the Broken Planet' (ALL) Free On Steam For Next 48 Hours

by Rainier on May 23, 2018 @ 9:14 a.m. PDT

Spacelords is a multiplayer online asymmetric adventure where you fight the invaders by teaming up with other Raiders, or turn the tables and storm into battle with those invaders fighting at your side!

An incredible discovery on one of Saturn’s moons leads a force of humans to the Broken Planet on the far reaches of the Universe. A source of energy called Aleph exists there that grants ultimate power to whoever controls it…

However, the human forces split into factions and fight amongst themselves for dominion over the Aleph. The peaceful inhabitants of the planet are caught in the crossfire, but a hero emerges amongst them who hopes to lead his people to freedom…

Using nefarious means and exploiting the disunity amongst the human ranks, Harec recruits a rag tag group of rogues, outlaws and hired guns from the various factions and pits them against those who would destroy his people...

In Raiders of the Broken Planet, become a Raider and join the battle both on and offline in awesome 3rd person Brawler-Shooter gameplay. Customise your character’s combat style in unique ways with special collectible cards. Use Aleph to your advantage, to power special abilities, but manage it properly or you will give away your position on the battlefield!

In Raiders of the Broken Planet you pick your protagonist and work together with three other players in a counter-operative adventure. The biggest idea underpinning the game is something akin to Dark Souls, where a single player, The Antagonist, can invade a match just as it begins and choose to fight alongside the bad guys against the four-player human team. The goal of this Antagonist is simply to troll the good guys and prevent them from achieving their mission objectives.

In celebration of Raiders of the Broken Planet’s Open Beta 1st anniversary, all three published campaigns, Alien Myths, Wardog Fury and Hades Betrayal, will be free on Steam for 48 hours, starting today, May 23rd 7:00 PM CEST/10:00 AM PST (users who download the game during that period will keep it forever.)

“We launched the first Raiders of the Broken Planet Open Beta in May 2017,” comments Enric Álvarez, Game Director, “and we wanted to celebrate this milestone with all those players who have played the game since and give them the chance to discover how much it has changed in the last twelve months thanks to their fantastic feedback.”

Players can download the Prologue for free to at launch. The Prologue will be accompanied by the first campaign - Alien Myths, which can be purchased for €9.99/$9.99/£9.99. Three more campaigns will be released at regular intervals: Wardog Fury, Hades Betrayal and Council’s Apocalypse. Each campaign will tell a new parallel story focusing  on different members of the Raiders while also adding new playable characters. Campaigns will cost €9.99/$9.99/£9.99 individually. The parallel nature of the stories ensures players can jump in at any time, enjoying the adventure in any order they please. Playing all four campaigns will reveal even more about the mystery at the centre of the Broken Planet.

Purchasing a campaign will grant a number of invite passes. These will allow players to invite their friends to play through a campaign with them, even if their friends do not own it themselves. Additional invite passes will be available to purchase in-game.

Raiders of the Broken Planet is currently available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
