'Pillars of Eternity' (ALL) Complete Edition Comes To Nintendo Switch Next Month - Trailer

by Rainier on July 26, 2019 @ 8:58 a.m. PDT

Pillars Of Eternity is an isometric, party-based RPG set in a new fantasy world reminiscent of titles such as Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment.

Pillars Of Eternity will take the central hero, memorable companions and the epic exploration of Baldur’s Gate, add in the fun, intense combat and dungeon diving of Icewind Dale, and tie it all together with the emotional writing and mature thematic exploration of Planescape: Torment.

Combat uses a tactical real-time with pause system - positioning your party and coordinating attacks and abilities is one of the keys to success. The world map is dotted with unique locations and wilderness ripe for exploration and questing. You’ll create your own character and collect companions along the way – taking him or her not just through this story, but, with your continued support, through future adventures. You will engage in dialogues that are deep, and offer many choices to determine the fate of you and your party. …and you'll experience a story that explores mature themes and presents you with complex, difficult choices to shape how your story plays out.

Nintendo Switch players and newcomers to the Pillars universe will get to experience the deep sense of exploration and discovery in a meticulously crafted RPG adventure that was made possible by over 70,000 backers on Kickstarter. Not only will players journey across an original fantasy realm filled with monster infested dungeons and challenges, but they’ll also explore the expanded world and content of the games two part DLC, The White March: Parts I & II.

In addition to that Nintendo Switch players will also benefit from all the major updates from the original PC version, including a raised level cap, expanded party AI options, and new difficulty levels to build out the ultimate RPG adventure.

For its part, Versus Evil General Manager Steve Escalante said: “We are thrilled to be announcing that Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition is launching on Nintendo Switch in August. Our continued partnership with Obsidian reaffirms our combined commitment in delivering one of the best RPG experiences available to Nintendo Switch players.”

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition will launch on Nintendo Switch on August 8th for $49.99 / € 49,99 / £ 44.99.

Consumers can now digitally pre-order the game through the Nintendo Switch eShop and receive a 20% discount on the game.

The White March: Part 1 expansion will extend the story and experience of Pillars of Eternity, as well as adding a higher level cap, new multi-class abilities, new companions including the rogue and monk, a new party based AI system, and much more to the game.

The White March – Part 2 adds new content to the Pillars of Eternity universe, including new quests, new abilities, and a new companion: Meneha, the Barbarian. The expansion also offers players a higher level cap, and the new “Story Time” mode, letting players experience the incredible narrative of Pillars of Eternity at a faster pace. Directed by Josh Sawyer, Game Director of Fallout: New Vegas and Pillars of Eternity, The White March - Part 2 features an expertly crafted story from Eric Fenstermaker, lead writer of Pillars of Eternity and the co-writer of South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Carrie Patel, author of the Recoletta series and writer on the original Pillars of Eternity.
