'Guilty Gear -Strive-' Cross-Platform Beta Begins Early February

Guilty Gear -Strive- is the latest entry in the fighting game franchise, and upholds the series' reputation for groundbreaking hybrid 2D/3D cell-shaded graphics and intense, rewarding gameplay.

Guilty Gear -Strive- will bring the franchise to the next level with new gameplay and updated design, created by the main development team that is lauded over their previous work.

Sophisticated game mechanics designed to bring out the mind games we know fighting games for, including the audacious new wall-break mechanic. The drama heats up as you and your opponent clash!

With zoom-ins and slow motion camera effects, impressive text visuals and top-notch animation quality, Guilty Gear -Strive- is filled to the brim with visual elements to make the show even more exciting, not only for you but also for those who watch it.


Arc System Works America Inc. announced the cross-platform network beta for the acclaimed fighting game Guilty Gear -Strive- begins on Friday, Feb. 3 at 11 p.m. PT and runs through Monday, Feb. 6. at 5 a.m. PT. The beta test takes place in advance of the anticipated launch of Guilty Gear -Strive- on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC in Spring 2023.

All players across PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms can experience the action-packed gameplay free-of-charge with no platform restrictions by downloading a separate application from the main Guilty Gear -Strive- game on each platform’s storefront. The platforms for the beta include: PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Players participating in the beta can select from all 22 available characters (including all currently released DLC characters) and try out a number of game modes, including online player matches, tutorial, survival mission modes, and more.

The full list of available modes in the beta include:

  • Tutorial Mode - Players can learn the basics of how to play
  • Mission Mode - Players will learn useful techniques for matches in a mission format
  • Survival Mode - Fight consecutive battles against the COM with a limited pool of health.
  • Training Mode - Recreate a variety of situations and practice to your heart’s content
  • VS COM, VS 2P - Players can fight against the computer or a friend
  • Online Match (Rank Tower, Open Park, Player Match) - Play online against others from across the globe
  • Combo Maker - Make original combo or setplay, and search for other players’ recipes to try
  • Digital Figure - Set up characters, furniture, effects, and more to create a unique scene
  • Gallery - Check out the characters and BGM

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 Rollback Netcode Officially Out + Lunar New Year Steam Sale

Additionally, rollback netcode is now officially implemented in the Steam version of Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2. The new rollback netcode reduces delay in online matches, making for a better experience during matches with players from other regions. Rollback netcode is also available for Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator.

Additionally, Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 is part of the Steam Lunar New Year Sale line-up, available for 50 percent off at $14.99 during the sale, and includes  the latest game in the Guilty Gear series, Guilty Gear -Strive- for $29.99 as well as other fighting games such as BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle for $4.79.

Guilty Gear -Strive- is available for PS4, PS5 and PC (Steam) for $59.99, coming to Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S in Spring 2023.
