'Ready or Not' Leaving Early Access, Release Date Set For Next Week, Details v1.0 Launch Content - Trailer

Ready or Not is a tactical first person shooter which places you in the boots of an elite SWAT team, tasked with defusing hostile situations in intense, claustrophobic environments.

At the core of Ready Or Not, Void Interactive has aimed to develop an intense, brutal yet fun tactical first-person shooter. Commanding a squad of A.I teammates, teaming up with your friends in co-op or playing competitive multiplayer modes, Ready or Not will task the player to confront cruel situations set in a twisted facsimile of the United States West Coast Region.

Ready Or Not presents complex S.W.A.T situations, that the player can approach in a variety of ways. Be it an aggressive assault, all guns blazing, or a quite flanking maneuver to coerce suspects without any fatalities. RoN (Ready or Not) leaves the discussion making to the players, allowing unique situations to unfold for each playthrough and each playing style.

Immersing the players into the world of S.W.A.T means that brutal realities will be shown. The destruction of normally peaceful areas around the city comes with a great cost. Innocent lives are caught in the crossfire, and VOID interactive has set out to represent this factor of life. Common areas such as gas stations and clubs but also schools and city streets are areas for the players to restore order to chaos and bring peace to balance.

VOID Interactive announced its tactical FPS Ready or Not will launch on December 13, 2023.

Leaving Steam Early Access with a massive 1.0 update, players will be able to dive deep into the immersive single-player campaign – Commander Mode. The 1.0 release update significantly expands the number of missions, completely overhauls prior missions, and offers much more additional content, customizations, and quality of life improvements.

At launch, Ready or Not features:

  • Commander Mode: A full, immersive single-player mode offering an insight into the high-stakes reality of SWAT officers.
  • 18 single-player or online cooperative missions with up to five players, from hostage situations to bomb threats and more.
  • Dozens of options to customize a player’s entire SWAT team including armor, weapons, apparel, and more.
  • Immersive tactical gameplay, full flexibility of approach, and authentic equipment that SWAT teams utilize in the field.

“From the beginning, we always envisioned Ready or Not to tackle realistic cases. We haven’t shied away from designing missions that paint a vivid reality of [the worst of] what SWAT forces deal with,” said Stirling Rank, COO and Lead Developer at VOID Interactive. “If you are looking for an intense gaming experience, that challenges you on the world you know – Ready or Not will offer an unforgettable playthrough.”

Ready or Not is already a fantastic tactical FPS, building out an extensive fanbase from our release into Steam Early Access,” said Julio Rodriguez, CEO of VOID Interactive. “With Ready or Not approaching 1.0 release, the team has brought to audiences an incredibly meaningful new franchise to the FPS genre, that satisfies a player-driven need for realistic and immersive gameplay.”

Great care has been placed into the player’s control, with fluid leaning systems and incremental walking speeds, PC gamers will be able to feel the benefits of the consoles analogue sticks, but still have the sharpness of the mouse, resulting in fierce and adrenaline pumping firefights. The care and detail that has gone into the control also will give the players a sense of stealth control, allowing them to appropriately maneuver into a correct position to execute their plans. For example, a player may want to quietly and slowly walk to a door to use a mirrorgun (camera on a stick) to observe the room beyond the door.

Another important part of the player's control is related to doors. The development team at VOID has placed great detail into how a player may interact with a door. While a door can do a simple task of being opened and closed, there are many ways to approach them when the situation calls for it. In a dramatic rush, one may kick the door open with brutal strength or blow it up. On the other hand, when approaching with complete silence, one may choose to lockpick open a door, and incrementally open it to stealthfully observe the content of the room.

Void Interactive’s development team knew that immersion, even of simple things like walking and opening doors can be expanded to fulfil the players experience to a new level, offering great amounts of control, still with a simple and easy to use feel for all players of any skill level.

Key Features:

  • Tactical Teamwork: Command a squad of operatives and plan how to approach each situation before breaching and clearing
  • More than just guns: Riot shields, mirror guns, smoke grenades, and more can be utilised to prevent or assist with a firefight
  • Civilian safety: The lives of civilians are on the line, and each shot will need to be carefully considered to reduce collateral damage
  • Realism at its core: From bullet penetration to team communication, Ready or Not is built around realistic non-military combat situations
  • Customisation and equipment: Each loadout can be tailored by players, and will dramatically influence chances of success, including guns, attachments, shields, and surveillance tools.

Ready or Not is coming to PC (Steam) on December 13, 2023 at $49.99/€49.99/£44.99.
