'Escape Simulator' Will Be Getting Portal Escape Chamber DLC Next Month - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 10, 2023 @ 3:56 p.m. PDT

Escape Simulator is a first-person escape room puzzler, playable solo or in co-op, where you explore a growing set of highly interactive escape rooms.

Playing solo or via online co-op, players must puzzle their way through a quirky collection of interactive escape rooms, putting their wits (and teamwork) to the test!

Think you have what it takes to escape? Face ingenuous locks in ancient Egypt. Hack the system in an adrift space shuttle. Decipher mysterious notes in the oddball Victorian library of Edgewood Mansion. Play online with pals for double the fun. Or brave the mysteries alone, with nothing but your smarts to aid you.

Escape Simulator also launches with an escape room level editor. Steam Workshop integration puts power in the hands of the players, allowing the community to design & share their very own escape rooms and collectively build the ultimate library of challenges to choose from.

Move furniture, pick up and examine everything, smash pots and break locks!

Hello, and welcome test subjects. Your first task is to escape.

The upcoming Portal Escape Chamber from our colleagues at Escape Simulator is designed to test your anti-containment and cooperation skills.

Please escape in a timely manner, as the effects of prolonged exposure to deadly neurotoxins are not part of this test… or take your time if you really want.

Co-op puzzle game Escape Simulator’s upcoming Portal Escape Chamber DLC takes you behind the scenes at the Aperture Science Computer-Aided Enrichment Center with a Portal-themed escape room. In this new DLC designed by Pine Studio with permission from Valve, a minor workplace incident involving thermal discouragement beam emitters has the Aperture Laboratories on lockdown with you (and up to nine other players) trapped inside. Please don’t panic, as you may distract your fellow test subjects. You’ll need to solve puzzles, repair a Personality Core, reunite with old cubed-shaped friends, and break Aperture Laboratories' safety protocols to escape.

And this time around, the cake is not a lie.

We promise.

The Portal Escape Chamber DLC will launch for free September 7th on Steam.

Key Features:

  • Solve puzzles: Face15 interactive escape rooms, spread across three weird and wonderful location-packs: "Labyrinth of Egypt", "Adrift in Space" & "Edgewood Mansion".
  • Team up with friends: Every Escape Simulator room supports online co-op, and are designed to be best played by 1-3 players. Join forces with friends to test your teamwork & tackle puzzles together. Two heads are better than one!
  • Powered by the community:  Use our level-editor to build your very own *dream* escape room. Or dive into a whole world of unique custom-rooms, built by our wonderful community.
  • Dress to impress: Customize your character & don a series of themed outfits, tailor-made for each puzzle environment.
  • Cause chaos!: Smash vases. Rearrange the furniture. Make a mess! If it's not nailed down, you can pick it up (and inevitably throw it at your friends)

Currently available as flat screen version for PC (Steam), Escape Simulator VR is coming to PC (Steam VR) later this summer.
