'Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate' Comes To PC in March, Playable Demo Tomorrow

by Rainier on Feb. 5, 2024 @ 1:40 p.m. PST

Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate is a science fiction VR title where players take on the role of Hal, a Special Supervisor in Astrum Close City.

A futuristic marine location, Astrum Close City is a place where crime has been eradicated. When the founder of the city is suddenly murdered, Hal must step in and bring the suspect to justice.

Able to access the memories of objects around him and alter the past using an ability called Memory Dive, Hal will have to back up what he discovers with evidence and theories in order to convince others and push the narrative forward. Everything players see could be a potential clue so paying attention and taking in every detail is paramount.

Dyschronia also features free movement, allowing players to  move around the game’s unique environments to discover and interact with items in order to help with their investigation. No one said being an investigator is easy. Players will also have to deal with the likes of Astrum Close City’s Integrated AI. Persuading the AI and winning over the city’s citizens is key to solving the mystery.

IzanagiGames announced that Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate - Dual Edition for PC (Steam) on March 27, 2024.

Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate has won multiple VR awards, including dominating seven categories at the NYX Game Awards and was a nominated finalist for Game of the Year in the 2023 VR Awards.

The Steam version of Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate will contain all three award-winning episodes in a single game. Now you can play each episode in both VR or non-VR mode!

Additionally, Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate - Dual Edition will be featured in Steam Next Fest February Edition, starting from February 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM (PST).

Key Features:

  • A unique, futuristic marine city where the integrated AI has made crime impossible
  • Interactive Investigation – Pick up objects and move around environments as you unravel the mystery! Everything you see is a potential clue. Solve all the puzzles as you seek out the truth at the heart of the incident. Events unfold in different ways, depending on your actions. You may even find yourself in dire circumstances…
  • Memory Diving – With his left hand, Hal the protagonist can access the memories sequestered within the objects around him. Dive into the past and uncover the truth behind the incident! Yet convincing others of what you’ve seen with your abilities is not always so simple. Gather evidence during your investigation to back up your theories!
  • Judgment Action – On your journey, you will face the Integrated AI: the city’s supreme authority, and all-powerful protector of the happiness and well-being of the majority. Use the evidence you uncover to solve the mystery! Persuading the Integrated AI will be your key to victory. During these judgments, the city residents’ “alignment parameters” will shift in real time. Remain adaptive and flexible, and ensure the actions you take win over the hearts and minds of the citizens as you strive to gain the upper hand.

Previously available for Meta Quest, PS VR2 and Nintendo Switch, Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate is coming to PC (Steam) on March 27, 2024.
