by Rainier on March 15, 2024 @ 1:48 p.m. PDT

Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure is an adventure crafting game set on a mysterious island full of remnants of the past and magical creatures, and pirates!

Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure builds on the success of the Earthlock RPGs, taking the rich world-building and magical setting of the franchise into new territory.

Taking inspiration from titles like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure offers a unique take on the genre, adding to compelling resource gathering and crafting systems with perilous pirate camps, the ability to enlist the unique talents of the island’s wildlife to help you out and many more exciting additions to be announced.

Set on a deserted island, the game tasks players with exploring its diverse and intriguing landscape as they collect resources for crafting and befriend wildlife to employ their unique abilities to progress to new areas of the island. They will discover ancient ruins from a bygone civilization, deal with treasure-hungry pirates, and unlock a host of different biomes, ranging from icy mountains and parched deserts, to dense jungles and humid swamps, as they uncover the secrets the island has to offer.

Snowcastle has been updating Ikonei Island since its release on PC in response to player feedback and is pleased to now be able to offer a more radical revamp to the experience with Blooming Beginnings as the game hits PlayStation and Xbox.

The update offers vastly improved onboarding, including a brand new opening to the game in a new area of the map, new UI, a reworked system to make farming easier, changes to make it easier to keep companions happy, a new enemy called the Vipeagon, the introduction of puzzles and more.

Blooming Beginnings includes a completely new onboarding flow with a new guiding system, as well as changes to some of the earlier quests to help players get straight into the narrative. There is also a brand new (and regularly updated) puzzle mission to keep you thinking! Additionally, the combat system has been improved and there is the introduction of a new enemy creature, the Vipeagon!

Since the original release on PC (Steam / Epic Games), the team has delivered new content experiences, and on March 28th, this continues with the 4th seasonal event “Coco-Cloudberry Craze” where the Pebblefluff has arrived on Ikonei Island in time for Easter/Sakura season. You can help them find all the Chocolate eggs hidden around the island, as well as getting your hands on the new Coco-Cloudberries from Sariel to create your own delicious Easter treats! Along with the new Coco-Cloudberry Blossom plant, the update adds a host of wearable and placeable items, from delightful dungarees and picnic baskets to brilliant bouquets and pretty polka dot shirts.

Additionally, any players on Steam who missed out on the earlier seasonal content will now be able to acquire all the additional items directly through brand new DLC bundles containing content which was originally released with the Lystide, Lunar New Year and Spring Tide Treasures events.

Players will also have the opportunity to make the island their own. An upgradable hamlet serves as a base of operations and unique placeable items allow you to customize the island to your liking.

Make fun and unique items to truly make Ikonei Island your own!

Key Features:

  • Transform the island: Players will harvest resources and then use their workshop to build and create items to customise their island. What starts off as dilapidated ruins will soon grow into the player’s home base, designed to their liking.
  • Comprehensive farming system: Players can design the layout of their farm, plant seeds, and nurture their crops.
  • Grow more powerful and thwart the pirates: As players become stronger and craft weapons, they’ll have to ensure the island is kept safe from danger, including bands of fearsome pirates.
  • Meet the locals and befriend the wildlife: Luckily there are lots of friendly characters to help out. Players will hear stories on the island’s history, as well as bonding with a colourful variety of creatures.
  • Play with friends: With the latest update, players will be able to explore, build and adventure across the mysteries of Ikonei Island with up to four players.

Currently available for PC (Steam / Epic Games), Ikonei Island: An Earthlock Adventure is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S on March 21, 2024, followed by Nintendo Switch at a later time.
