by Rainier on March 21, 2024 @ 4:46 p.m. PDT

Robobeat is a rogue-lite rhythm shooter where it's all about maximizing your damage by shooting to the beat.

Keep your trigger finger on the pulse!

Wall run, grapple hook, slide, and bunny hop your way through the haphazard mansion of a crazed robot-showman. Fast forward through procedurally generated levels, equip an arsenal of finely-tuned weapons, and accompany your arsenal with a symphony of modifications. Your playstyle is on continuous shuffle, so you never know what each new run is going to bring!

You’ve been trapped in the ever-changing mansion of the eccentric robot-showman Frazzer. If you want to escape this twisted techno-playground, you’ll have to master the art of shooting, wall-running, sliding, and bunny hopping, all in sync with the beat! Get ready to dance till you're dead and then suit up for the remix in rogue-lite rhythm shooter Robobeat.

Shoot to your own beat with the custom music feature. Simply upload & trim your track or leave it as it is in our in-game editor to auto generate beats that suit your play style. Change custom songs effortlessly in-game anytime anywhere without interruption. The feature will support .wav, .mp3, and .ogg files. Maximise your damage and shorten your cooldown time by shooting in sync. Master the art of charged shots, damage multipliers, armour piercing rounds, and more!

Publisher Kwalee and developer Simon Fredholm are thrilled to announce the release date for  Robobeat, coming to PC (Steam / Epic Games Store) on May 16, 2024.

Players can also download the demo of the game on Steam which includes the powerful custom music feature and more. The custom music feature allows players to easily upload and trim their track in the in-game editor to automatically generate beats tailored to their play style, seamlessly changing custom songs anytime, anywhere without interruption.

First, you’ll need to head to the Custom Music section of the main menu and upload your track. The feature will support .wav, .mp3, and .ogg files. Most importantly, you won’t ever need to exit the game. You can import tracks directly from your files into the game itself!

After that, you’ll need to customize your cassette. Name the track whatever you like, pick your artist, and choose from a psychedelic palette of colours and designs to make your cassette. Alternatively, add your own photos and use them to create a cassette that is truly unique!

But why stop there when there’s so much more to customize?

Once you’ve uploaded your track, you can either choose to leave it as is or edit it in our track editor. The beats will be auto generated when you upload, but you can change them to suit your playstyle. Clip out your favourite part so your custom cassette is all killer and no filler.

The colorful square at the bottom will indicate the BPM of the track, so you’ll have an idea of what it’ll be like to use in game.

When you’re done creating your custom cassette, you can also export it and share it with your friends, Robobeat community members, your followers, your pets, or even that one guy you met at the bus stop, so they can play using it too!

Once you’re back in the game, all you need to do is switch to your new custom cassette and shoot robots to the beat of your own drum.

It’s really as simple as that!

You’ll also be able to effortlessly shift between any of the songs you’ve discovered or added to your cassette library, so you’ll never have to go back to the main menu or exit the game again. EVER.

You’ll want some slick moves to go with those slick new weapons. Your enemies aren’t going to wait around for you to take a dance break, so you’ve got to keep moving if you want to survive. Wall run, slide, double jump, bunny hop, and grapple hook your way through technicolour levels to give your enemies the runaround. Keep it fluid, keep it funky, and keep it moving.

Fast forward through procedurally generated levels, equip an arsenal of finely-tuned weapons, and accompany your arsenal with a symphony of modifications. Your playstyle is on continuous shuffle, so you never know what each new run is going to bring!

Will you have what it takes to break the infinite loop and stop Frazzer in his tracks?
