'Path Of Exile' Necropolis Expansion Launches Next Week - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on March 21, 2024 @ 5:10 p.m. PDT

Path Of Exile is a free-to-play online action/RPG set in a dark fantasy world, where you play as one of six character classes, banished for their past misdeeds to the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast.

Playing as one of six character classes, players find themselves banished for their past misdeeds to the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. There, they will encounter hundreds of species of opponents laden with loot and mysterious artifacts as they explore the abandoned continent.

Players will be able to purchase in-game perks, such as extra victory animations, clothing and special effects. To protect the integrity of the game for all players, Grinding Gear Games has decided not to sell abilities or experience points – ensuring a level-playing field for everyone in game.

With an open-ended and flexible skill and item system, randomised items and random dungeons, the game promises three acts of visceral combat gameplay, with additional expansions already planned.

The new Path of Exile expansion will launch on March 29th for PC, Mac and Consoles.

The Necropolis expansion introduces the Necropolis challenge league, a plethora of changes to the endgame, new tier 17 Maps and Bosses, new Transfigured Skill Gems, and much more!

Examine the Spirits haunting Wraeclast by peering through the Lantern of Arimor. The Lantern allows you to manipulate the Spirits, letting you configure which monsters they haunt. It would be wise to take your time with your decisions, for the Spirits are not forgiving.

The Undertaker’s mysterious soul experiments can coalesce into powerful items. Take the corpses of haunted monsters to the Necropolis, bury them in one of the many graves in the cemetery and exorcise them to forge items from their souls.

Bury many Haunted monsters strategically to utilise a vast combination of different crafting modifiers, then exorcise them to achieve your perfect item. Exorcise corpses haunted by the family members of famous Eternal Empire bloodlines to create new Unique Items.

Defeating Haunted monsters causes you to find areas with monsters that are blessed by Devoted Spirits. Devoted Spirits cause monsters to grant you with a wide variety of different rewards, such as dropping more and better items, spawning Shrines that grant buffs, and allowing you to find an NPC that gives you a Unique Item. The Necropolis expansion also introduces 14 new Unique Items, 5 of which are exclusive to the Necropolis League.

Find special monster packs trapped within Embers of the Allflame, a powerful relic of Wraeclast. Place these in the Lantern of Arimor to encounter abnormal monsters that yield special rewards.

In this expansion, unlock access to multiple Atlas Passive Skill Trees which can be used to enhance your Endgame experience to its maximum potential. Earn up to two extra trees by progressing through the Atlas and choose your desired playstyle for each Endgame Map.

Path of Exile: Necropolis includes new Skill and Support Gems and a range of new Transfigured Gems. Automate your Warcries and Instant Spells with the Call to Arms and Automation Skills, and empower your wand attacks with the Sacred Wisps Support. If you've been waiting for a transfigured version of your favourite skill, you'll now be able to play exciting new variants of Poisonous Concoction, Tornado, Ice Shot, and more.
