'Exoprimal' Details Season 4 Mega Man Collab, New Modes, Exosuit Variants, and More - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on April 5, 2024 @ 1:40 a.m. PDT

Exoprimal is a team-based action game set to unleash a prehistoric blast from the past on the near future, blending a new co-op experience with a competitive edge.

Suit up in powered armor to put down dinosaur invasions and save humanity from extinction when the Exofighters deploy for battle.

It’s 2040 and the planet is in crisis. Dinosaurs are appearing from thin air and laying waste to cities across the globe. Threatened by history’s deadliest creatures, the world turns to the powerful Aibius Corporation and its revolutionary technology for help. The company’s next-generation AI, Leviathan, can forecast where dinosaur outbreaks will occur and deploy Exofighters to the area. Armed with state-of-the-art mechanized combat armor known as Exosuits, these warriors represent humanity’s last hope.

Vortexes are opening in the sky, flooding cities with deadly creatures from the prehistoric era. As raptors cascade from above and Tyrannosaurus Rexes stomp through the streets, it’s up to squads of five brave Exofighters in mechanized combat armor, known as Exosuits, to fight back against the dinosaurs who threaten to push humanity toward extinction.

Exoprimal pioneers a new multiplayer experience rooted in co-op – but with a competitive edge. In the game’s main mode, Dino Survival, teams fight for every breath against countless dinosaurs while racing to complete missions before rival squads in 5v5 matches. A dynamic mix of objectives keeps players on their guard and ensures each match is different form the last. Exofighters will need to stay on their toes as hunts transition into precious cargo deliveries or desperate last stands against relentless assaults. Opposing teams are even given opportunities to tackle adversaries head-on and impede their progress. While Exoprimal is purely focused around multiplayer, a narrative is interwoven throughout the game. Players can sink their teeth into the world’s rich history and colorful characters by unlocking new story threads and piecing together the mystery behind the dinosaur outbreaks.

Valued Exofighters! The latest dinosaur forecast indicates Exoprimal will summon Title Update 4 this month and Capcom revealed new details about the dino-busting action game’s next free content expansion.

The upcoming season deploys on April 17, 2024 and will feature a Mega Man collaboration with a devilish boss fight and Blue Bomber-themed cosmetics. Exoprimal players can also suit up and master a range of new Exosuit variants and enjoy the wargames with two fresh game modes that push customization and challenge to the next level.

Exoprimal Mega Man Collaboration

The Exoprimal x Mega Man collaboration includes a rockin’ new boss battle against Yellow Devil (1). Much like the Rathalos encounter that debuted in Season 3’s Monster Hunter crossover, 10 players will join forces to fight for everlasting peace against a massive robot with shapeshifting abilities and a wily arsenal of attacks.

Exofighters can also equip special collaboration cosmetic sets (2), including:

  • Mega Man (Nimbus)
  • Air Man (Witchdoctor)
  • Yellow Devil (Krieger)
Brand-New Beta Variant Exosuits

The armory of playable Exosuits is also expanding to a grand total of 30 with Title Update 4’s new arrivals:
  • Zephyr Beta: Boost Claws – This model rends foes in close combat with its talons. These attacks fill a gauge that can be used to enhance its melee abilities or unleash a powerful charged attack.
  • Krieger Beta: Blitz Cannon – Bombard enemies with artillery, then mow them down with a devastating laser.
  • Vigilant Beta: Bowhunter – Punch through foes at range with bolts that are as deadly as they are accurate.
  • Murasame Beta: Windcaller – Defend against incoming attacks to charge up energy, then unleash that force as a tornado that pulls in and restrains enemies.
  • Witchdoctor Beta: Plasma Shot – Pin down foes with rapid fire and paralyze them with charged cluster shots.
  • Nimbus Beta: Wild Bomb – Lay down proximity mines that can provide healing properties or explosive power.

More Modes to Enjoy
  • Custom Match – This mode enables players to create custom lobbies with their pick of rules, missions, and maps. Replay special story missions and 10-player co-op battles, play with friends on other platforms, and enjoy the new “Quick Brawl” setting to cut straight to the final missions. No matter how Exofighters choose to play in this mode, they’ll continue to earn XP, level up their suits, earn unlockables, and progress the story.
  • Time Loop Rebellion – Take on the game’s climactic boss battle in an even more challenging form and earn rewards for your combat prowess. Akin to Savage Gauntlet, this mode will be available at set times, with the first opportunity running Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 8:00pm PDT – Monday, April 29, 2024 at 7:59pm PDT.

Beyond all these new additions, Exoprimal Season 4 will also introduce a 10th Exosuit Rig (the incendiary Mortar), celebrate seasonal holidays with special limited-time campaigns, and feature even more fun surprises.

1. The initial period of the Mega Man collab mission’s availability will be Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 8:00pm PDT to Monday, May 14, 2024 at 7:59pm PDT.

2. Some Mega Man collab cosmetics can be obtained by playing the collab mission a certain number of times. Others are available for purchase.

Exofighters are always outnumbered and must work together to overcome overwhelming odds. Their Exosuits come in an array of classes, each playing a distinct role in combat. Assault models like the marksman Deadeye and the melee-oriented Zephyr excel at cutting down enemy swarms. Meanwhile, tanks such as the shield-bearing Roadblock and support types like the vital Witchdoctor help keep everyone alive to fight another day. Every model is outfitted with a unique armory and special abilities. Thanks to the efforts of the Aibius Corporation, Exosuits can be swapped out in the middle of combat, allowing your team to change tactics at a moment’s notice without having to disengage from a fight.

Aibius is also behind the development of Leviathan, an artificial intelligence which is instrumental in predicting where vortexes will open next. Leviathan acts as a navigator, providing constantly evolving objectives throughout each match, and instructing your squad on what your next task will be.

Your elite team will always be outnumbered by massive swarms of dinosaurs, but between the power of Exosuits and Leviathan’s guidance, you’ll be able to slowly piece together what’s going on in the world of Exoprimal. As you play, you’ll unlock narrative elements and story threads that will weave together to provide more insight into this near-future world plagued by dinosaur outbreaks.

Exoprimal is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam).
