'Rock Band 4' (PS4/XOne) - Features & Screens

by Judy on June 18, 2015 @ 12:03 p.m. PDT

Rock Band 4 is the latest installment in the music/rhythm franchise, not only bringing over 2000+ songs from past iterations, but all new tracks, features & modes.

Rock Band's gameplay takes the full band and solo-instrument experience to the next level, including new features that allow players to express themselves. Rock Band 4 includes an immersive story campaign and ways to make playing with your friends and family easier and more fun.

Key Features:

  • Freestyle Guitar Solos - Guitarists can bust out guitar solos of their own with the Freestyle Guitar Solos, no lessons or music expertise needed. Freestyle Guitar Solo gameplay features remarkable depth, allowing expert players to string together face-melting licks and original legendary solos.
  • Sing for the moment - Vocalists can sing with advanced pitch recognition that rewards them for putting their own spin on favorite songs.
  • Improved Drum Fills - Drummers never miss a beat with latency-free Dynamic Drum Fills designed to sound better than before.
  • Work the crowd - New Stage Presence gameplay allows players to work the crowd into a frenzy by flaunting charisma and working together with bandmates for in-game rewards and real-time audience reactions.
  • Start band. Rock the world - Rock Band 4 features an improved campaign/story experience, allowing up to four players to create and customize in-game avatars, form a band, and build a rock career.
  • Keep the party going – The social experience gets even better with Shows mode. Players can drop in and drop out or change difficulty on the fly without interrupting gameplay. Bands can build multi-song sets via an in-game selection process.
  • Support for legacy instrument controllers - Most existing Rock Band-branded controllers will be compatible with Rock Band 4. PlayStation 3 wireless standard guitars and wireless drums will plug and play seamlessly on the PlayStation 4. Xbox 360 wireless standard guitars and wireless drums connect with the Xbox One via a low-cost adapter. Legacy USB microphones are also compatible on both platforms.
  • This is just the beginning... Rock Band 4 will evolve in gameplay features, music, and more via DLC after release.

Rock Band 4 features a soundtrack with more than 60 songs in the core game, with tunes from legendary musicians, hot modern artists, and upcoming acts. Fans who purchased music on previous-generation consoles can play those tracks in Rock Band 4 at no additional cost.

Songs on the disc include:

  • Avenged Sevenfold – "Hail to the King"
  • Benjamin Booker – "Violent Shiver"
  • Elvis Presley – "Suspicious Minds"
