'Fallout 4' (ALL) Gets More Mods, VR Support, DLCs - Screens

by Rainier on June 12, 2016 @ 10:48 p.m. PDT

As the sole survivor of Vault 111, you enter a world destroyed by nuclear war. Every second is a fight for survival, and every choice is yours. Only you can rebuild and determine the fate of the Wasteland. Welcome home.

Fallout 4 was revealed to the world a year ago at Bethesda’s first-ever showcase, and since then it’s been incredible to see how fans have taken the game and made it their own. There’s no shortage of amazing fan content – from the videos you’ve made to some of the most amazing cosplay we’ve seen for any game.

But nothing has been as awesome as seeing the incredible content coming from within the game. Custom characters, setups and Mods beyond anyone’s wildest imagination have taken the game to new heights. Your work motivated and inspired the team at Bethesda Game Studios, which has created more post-release content for the game than ever before. At this year’s BE3 Showcase, we gave you a first look at the new content coming to Fallout 4 this summer. All three remaining add-ons will be available as part of the Season Pass, giving you $70 worth of content for just $50. And as a reward for the fans who picked up the Season Pass early, you get everything for just $30.

It all starts next week with the first new add-on…

Nuka-World features new quests, Raiders, weapons, creatures and more. Enjoy the ride!

As with previous add-ons, we’ll be running Betas on all platforms before launching each new piece of content. Whether you’re on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or PC, your chance at participating in the Betas begins by signing up for a account. When we’re ready to begin the Betas, we’ll notify the selected participants.

While Nuka-World will be the final add-on for Fallout 4, things are just getting started with Mods for the game. Since launching the Creation Kit in April, we’ve been blown away by the new content on – available to both PC and Xbox One users. And at that end of this month, PlayStation 4 fans will have access to Mods, too. Look for more information in the coming weeks.

This is all in addition to the three amazing add-ons already available. If you haven’t grabbed the Season Pass yet, you can still purchase it for $50 and get everything.

Fallout 4 Virtual Reality

“Since we first showed off modern VR with DOOM 3 BFG at E3 2012, we have dedicated ourselves to the technology, constantly pushing ourselves forward,” said Bethesda VP of Marketing & PR Pete Hines.

We plan to release Fallout 4 for VR headsets within the next 12 months.

“We think that VR is the perfect fit for truly immersive games like our massive open-world RPGs,” Hines said. At BE3 Plus, attendees were given a taste of what’s to come, exploring the world of Fallout 4, using the game’s Pip-Boy and interacting with Dogmeat – all in full virtual reality. “If you thought Survival Mode was an intense Fallout experience… you ain’t seen nothing yet,” Hines said.

Fallout 4 Mod Support

At Bethesda, we put the power of player choice in your hands. Our games are built to allow you to express yourself in our worlds, through your choices and your actions. For PC gamers, this goes one step further, thanks to our incredible modding community. But now, we’re giving players even more freedom and choice by bringing the ability to play Mods to console, offering each and every one of you infinite possibilities in how you customize your gaming experience.

With the release of Fallout 4’s PC Creation Kit, a free downloadable editor, we placed the same tools used by Bethesda Game Studios into the hands of PC modders. This allows content creators and fans of our games to endlessly expand Fallout 4 and, beginning this October, Skyrim Special Edition. Now, with, modding has been opened to console players, allowing everyone to experience some of the amazing creations and customization options that were once limited to the PC community.

On, Mods have been downloaded more than 15 million times by players since launch.

If you’re new to Mods, you might be asking, “What are they?” Using the Creation Kit, Modders are able to create new game content. New quests, environments, dialogue, toolsets, weapons, environments, armor, Perks… almost anything the community can imagine. Essentially, you are now empowered to be a game developer.

Mods will continue to expand to new horizons in the coming weeks and months. Along with bringing Fallout 4 Mods to PS4 later this month and Mod support in Skyrim Special Edition, we’re actively talking with the community to find ways to improve our tools and how Mods are accessed in-game and through

If you’re ready to try Fallout 4 with Mods, be sure to register an account on From there, you can start downloading Mods within the game’s menu or by browsing And if you’re ambitious enough to start creating your own Mods, visit our community Wiki,, to start learning how you can develop your own content with the PC version of Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.
