12. 'Tekken 8' (PS5, XSX, PC)

Tekken 8 brings the fight to the next generation, using Unreal Engine 5 and creating one of the most visually stunning and immersive titles in the genre yet.

Redmond Carolipio: I feel like fighting games have quietly reached another level of artistry and fun while people have been ogling all of the open-world adventure fare, and it was only a matter of time before Tekken would make its presence felt. First off, it just looks fantastic, but hearing the designers talk about wanting to reward aggression — and implementing some new stuff to foster that — is also intriguing. There's also enough continuous story looming in there as well.

Chris "Atom" DeAngelus: Probably the king of all the 3D fighting games, Tekken titles are always an event, with a huge selection of characters, new mechanics, and an increasingly convoluted plot. Tekken 8 brings back fan favorites, adds new characters, and has the most detailed and involved story mode to date. The latest entry in the King of the Iron Fists tournament is shaping up to be a must-play for hardcore and casual fans alike.

Cody Medellin: Tekken has always been a very solid fighting game, and Tekken 8 looks no different. The addition of both an in-game story and a more meta one surrounding the fighting game scene is a nice touch. The previously released demo gives players confidence that this is just another solid entry in a series known for producing banger after banger. The good news is that it will be released soon, so a review will be coming along shortly.
