Rockstar is bringing its open-ended crime series to the next-gen consoles with Grand Theft Auto IV, returning the franchise to New York situated around the mysterious protagonist Nikolai. GameStop will launch a national text-to-win contest in anticipation of the April 29, 2008 launch, culminate with a launch event in "Liberty City" (a.k.a. New York City) on April 28, where national winners will meet regional winners and vie for $30,000 in prizes.

During his presentation, making use of various slides, it came to light that the publisher under siege is considering making MMOs out of the BioShock and Civilization franchises, as well as a possible Hollywood movie based on the former.

Atari Facing Nasdaq Delisting Once Again, Still...

In Dec. 2007 Atari received yet another notice from Nasdaq that it had 90 days to get its ducks in a row or it would be facing delisting. On March 24, 2008 it received a Staff Determination Letter that Atari had not gained compliance with the requirements, and that its securities are therefore subject to removal from The Nasdaq Global Market.
