Namco Bandai announced
that it plans to acquire D3Publisher, so both companies can work together in order to strengthen global developments and expand business, especially overseas. Namco Bandai has already reached an agreement with share holders to purchase 70% of D3P's shares, and hopes to acquire the full 100% shortly.

D3Publisher will bring its classic PSP titles to gamers for download via the PlayStation Store in North America beginning this September. PSP system owners will no longer need a UMD to play titles such as mini-game collection WTF: work time fun, the original Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and third person-action game Dead Head Fred.

In an statement announcing that Vivendi’s UK Managing Director and Vice President of Europe Adam Roberts has joined D3Publisher of Europe as Managing Director it was revealed (which we can confirm) that D3P is developing a sequel to last year's Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, a genre-bending style of gameplay rooted in a classic puzzle gameboard setting that incorporates role-playing and strategy elements, multiplayer gameplay modes and an engaging storyline.

Interactive Entertainment today announced a licensing agreement for DC Comics/Vertigo's 100 Bullets, allowing D3PA to develop and publish console, handheld, and PC games based on the renowned comic book series. Whether this has anything to do with the previously cancelled Acclaim title, is not known.

The agreement calls for the release of four games: one title each for the GameCube and GBA in early 2006, and in the second half of 2006.
