GungHo Entertainment announced that it is working on bringing the popular anime-style MMORPG Ragnarok Online to the NDS. Inspired by the Ragnarok Online fantasy graphic novel, players can be anything they desire — a strong and vengeful swordsman, a swift thief, or caring healer. There are 10 different lands and environments in the world of Ragnarok Online to which players can travel. Apart from the 2008 release date in Japan, no other details were disclosed.

At the Tokyo Game Show 2005, Gravity announced it is working on Ragnarok Online 2, but promises to take its popular online RPG in a somewhat new direction. Unlike its predecessor, Ragnarok 2 will be in full 3D, but will also do away with the fixed classes, allowing each player to develop his own character and skills. Carried over from the first title are several predetermined choices such as swordman, novice or thief, but also new additions like recruit, magician and even a clown.
