Epic Games has licensed Unreal Engine 4 to NCSOFT through a long-term deal that grants the MMO publisher/developer to utilize Epic’s technology and tools for upcoming projects.

Executive producer Jeremy Gaffney of NCsoft’s Carbine Studios has confirmed that the project they have been working on will be the subject of a world exclusive reveal at gamescom, and that they will bring the game to PAX Prime as well.

NCsoft would like to invite friends, family, dragons, heroes and villains alike to their calendar of in-game holiday events where they can also – visit friends, eat delicious food, open presents and battle the occasional Winter Horde.

NCsoft reported earnings results for 2009 Q1, revealing sales came of $USD 107.7 million, with its net profit jumping 422% to $USD 27.0 million, mainly boosted by the solid maintenance of Lineage and Lineage II sales, in addition to Aion sales.

While id Software themselves seem to be uncertain (first confirmed, then retracted it) Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment issued a statement making clear that in spite of not being on the list, it will be attending E3.

NCsoft is bringing back one of the most popular in-game events that City of Heroes and City of Villains has ever seen: The Double XP Weekend. For an entire weekend (Feb. 8 to Feb. 10), Hero and Villain characters will receive double the XP, Prestige, Influence, and Infamy when they take on adventures and battle crime or cause mayhem.

NCsoft announced that Robert Garriott, who recently finished Tabula Rasa, is leaving his post as president of NCsoft’s North American business and moving into a role of global business development and planning, and will be replaced by Chris Chung, currently the vice president for worldwide product development.
