Six new stars were unveiled yesterday on Walk of Game, Sid Meier and John Carmack for Lifetime Achievement, and Lara Croft, StarCraft, Final Fantasy and EverQuest as Favorite Games/Characters. Each received a star on Walk of Game, located inside San Francisco's Metreon.

On Thursday, March 16, six new stars will be unveiled on Walk of Game, the landmark destination honoring icons of the videogame industry. Walk of Game today announced its list of 2006 inductees. John Carmack and Sid Meier were selected in the Lifetime Achievement category, and EverQuest, Final Fantasy, Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), and StarCraft received the top votes for favorite Games/Characters. Winners will be honored with a permanent 24"x24" customized steel star installed on the floors of Metreon, in downtown San Francisco. The official induction ceremony is currently set for Spring 2006.

The Walk of Game is a landmark honoring the icons and pioneers of the videogame industry. This year, The Sims has been nominated for this honor. Winners are selected based on fans' votes. Anyone who registers at
the Walk Of Game website can vote at least once a day for the entire month of October, and the final inductee will be announced in November 2005.

Walk of Game, the first physical landmark honoring the icons and pioneers of the videogame industry, today announced its list of 2004 inductees: Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of Mario Brothers and Donkey Kong) and Nolan Bushnell (creator of Pong and founder of Atari) were selected in the Lifetime Achievement category.
