EA Ships 'SHOX' For PS2

by Thomas on Nov. 12, 2002 @ 3:25 p.m. PST

Electronic Arts announced today that it has shipped Shox for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Racing rookies as well as seasoned speed demons will hit the circuit to compete in amped-up arcade-style off-road car racing. Jumping into one of 24 licensed high voltage vehicles from Porsche, BMW, Subaru, Toyota, Ford, and other manufacturers, players race through three-lap circuits on dirt, snow, and asphalt. Sliding through dusty roads, slipping on ice, and shredding through tree-lined dirt trails, it's crowded on the open road, as six competing cars try to muscle into prime position, wreaking havoc along the way. Additionally, up to 4 players can compete for top rankings in a multiplayer split-screen mode. Shox for the PlayStation 2 carries an "E" (Everyone) rating from the ESRB and is priced at US MSRP $49.99. Shox was developed by Electronic Arts UK.
