Sports Interactive and Eidos Interactive, the developer and publisher team responsible for the Championship Manager series of record breaking PC management simulations, today announce a deal with Softwrap that will see Championship Manager: Season 01/02 available for download from Sun Online.

This deal means that users of the Sun Online (the web site of Britain's best-selling tabloid newspaper, The Sun) will be able to download a limited version of Championship Manager: Season 01/02 from the 'Fun' section. Should they choose to, they can then upgrade to the full version by paying a one-off fee of $34.99 (online or offline), which will provide them with seamless and instantaneous delivery of the game. This is all powered by the unique Softwrap ESD technology.

The promotion will be heavily advertised in The Sun newspaper and will run for the entirety of the six week run-up to the World Cup, starting immediately.

Miles Jacobson, Managing Director of Sports Interactive, said, “We’re delighted to have secured such a high profile promotion with Softwrap and The Sun Online. Softwrap technology offers us a fantastic opportunity to allow all those football fans who aren’t familiar with Champ Man the chance to see what all the fuss is about. And if they agree that the game is worth the accolades it gets and they want to play some more, they can arrange everything online with just a few clicks of a mouse. It’s beautifully simple. “

Rod Cunningham, Business Development, Softwrap, says of the announcement, "This is obviously an excellent opportunity for us. Championship Manager is such a huge title and this is the first time that the demo will be available for instant upgrade to the full product, so we feel that our solution is going to provide them with some great results".

Sun Online is hosted here. More details can be found on Sports Interactive and Eidos Interactive.
