21-6 chose to partner with GarageGames because they offer a comprehensive package for Independent developers. "Working with GarageGames allows us to focus on making fun games with an 'indie' budget", says Mette. "We believe that the large game publishers have left a gap that independent studios like 21-6 can fill with fun and innovative games you might not find on the store shelf. Orbz is an example of just such a game."

"We're excited to have a game with the quality of Orbz as part of the early launch of our player's site," says Jay Moore, Evangelist for GarageGames. "Orbz is a great multiplayer game taking full advantage of the network play that Tribes 2 was known for, Orbz has fun and addicting game play, and though it's simple enough for anyone to pick up, it offers fast game play and with good depth of strategy required."

Indie developers were offered a preview of Orbz at IndieGamesCon 2002 last November. "The game was an instant hit," says Moore. "It's a perfect example of the kind of innovative and sheer playability we're confident we'll find from Indie developers." Orbz was awarded first prize in the IGC Player's Choice Awards.
