GDC Contest

by Thomas on March 3, 2003 @ 6:57 a.m. PST

Softwrap, the leading British-based provider of virtual 'shrink-wrap' solutions for the games and software industry, today announced that it is attending the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Jose, California, 4 - 8 March, and is also offering games developers the chance to win a whopping $10,000 in prize money!

The challenge, which is open to all GDC delegates and attendees and is free to enter, is to sell 5,000 copies of a Softwrapped games title within a three-month period (1 April to 30 June 2003). Those who successfully rise to the challenge will walk away with a $10,000 prize, over and above royalties owing to them.

In the event that no participant reaches the target within the specified time, the $10,000 prize will then be split equally between the top five entrants who have sold more than 1,000 copies each. The full terms and conditions of the competition can be accessed at: http://www.softwrap.com/challenge .

Gary Millner, CEO of Softwrap, commented: "We think that the prize on offer is large enough to stimulate some real interest in the game developer community to pick up the gauntlet. The distribution partners and strategies they can use are unlimited and existing small downloadable games titles currently being sold will automatically be entered into the competition, so the target is certainly achievable. I'm looking forward to presenting the first winner with their $10,000 cheque!"

Members of Softwrap's US team will be available throughout the conference to meet with anyone who would like to find out more about Softwrap's secure ESD solution and the company's capabilities. Those interested in setting up a meeting should e-mail their details to gdc2003@Softwrap.com .
