Logitech announced today that the Logitech USB Headset for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system will be available on retail shelves in the U.S. and at logitech.com later this month for a suggested retail price of $39.95 US.

"The bundle of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs from Sony Computer Entertainment America with a Logitech headset broke new ground by providing gamers with a great game featuring command recognition and voice-over-IP functionality, plus a high-quality headset in a single-package solution for PlayStation®2," said Fred Swan, Director of Marketing for Logitech's Audio and Interactive Entertainment Business Unit. "This new retail USB headset allows these gamers the opportunity to enjoy the same high level of headset performance and compatibility with additional comfort and cosmetic features."

As developers continue to build online support into new games, the need for a feature-rich headset grows. The Logitech USB Headset features a digital USB audio processor and noise-canceling microphone for crystal-clear sound and high-quality voice input, which deliver precise command recognition and understandable voice chat when gaming online, especially in an environment with a high degree of external noise.

An adjustable headband and interchangeable earpads made of velvet, leatherette and foam provide exceptional comfort, especially for long gaming sessions. A convenient ten foot audio cord is included, ensuring freedom to choose an ideal location to play.
