'Possession' (PS2/Xbox) Announced

by Rainier on May 5, 2004 @ 3:48 p.m. PDT

Possession will give players the chance to do what they’ve always wanted to do in a survival horror game – control the zombies and wreak havoc instead of just cowering in the corner. There’ll be no more creeping about in the shadows, no more conserving ammo – You are finally taking control of the carnage!

The game will provide a unique and ambitious mix of strategy and all-out gore-splattered action. It will also feature innovative online multiplayer modes featuring Blitz's new 1-versus-many gameplay mechanic that will allow a single third-person player to take on multiple first-person enemies.

The company has already had several high profile publishers interested in the project as Chief Technical Officer Andrew Oliver explains: "Several of the publishers that have already seen the game concept are actively pursuing further information and we feel sure that someone will snap up publishing rights in the near future."

The Blitz team will be raising awareness of the game at E3 through a "You Have Been Possessed" campaign which will include a teaser website (at www.YouHaveBeenPossessed.com) featuring information about the game, ongoing updates and feedback.

ABOUT BLITZ GAMES: Blitz Games was founded in 1990 by industry veterans Philip and Andrew Oliver and now has over 120 dedicated and creative staff working in its UK based head office. They have released a wide variety of games on all platforms and recent releases include the top-10 action game Bad Boys II (for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC) based on the 2003 blockbuster movie, and Fairly OddParents: Breakin’ Da Rules (for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube) based on the hit Nickelodeon TV show.
