Developer Paradox Entertainment announced today that PC gamers across North America will experience even more of the excitement they loved in Hearts of Iron with Hearts of Iron - Platinum, scheduled to ship to retail outlets nationwide in September 2004.

From the developers of the award-winning Europa Universalis I and II, Hearts of Iron - Platinum adds a new scenario, thousands of new events and an improved AI and diplomatic system to the original World War II real-time strategy game.

"Hearts of Iron - Platinum will introduce an exciting new element to the franchise that will satiate strategy enthusiasts while they anticipate the arrival of Hearts of Iron II," said Fredrik Lindgren, Director of Sales and Marketing for Paradox Entertainment. "We are very happy to be able to bring our fans more of the adventure they love while we prepare to unroll the next Paradox strategy sequel."

Hearts of Iron, the first World War II game of true grand strategic scope, shipped in North America in November 2002 and a sequel is in development for Q1 2005. The original game received international acclaim from the North American and European gaming communities, including Editor's Choice Awards from PC Gamer, IGN and Strategy Gaming Online.
