'Star Chamber: Rebellions' Announced

by Judy on Jan. 11, 2005 @ 3:46 a.m. PST

Nayantara Studios LLC announced today an expansion for its critically-acclaimed online collectible card game. Star Chamber: Rebellions is the second expansion for the independently-published game, and will go live on Saturday, January 15.

"Rebellions adds over 100 cards to the game, and with exciting new mechanics such as 'Ditch', 'Eternal', and 'Rebel', players all over the world have fun new toys at their disposal for conquering the galaxy in under thirty minutes," said Paul Dennen, Star Chamber's designer. "The aspect of this expansion that I am personally most proud of is that it introduces a slew of new features that are free for all registered players; you don't have to purchase any Rebellions cards to take advantage of them."

"All players, even those who have never registered the product can now enjoy offline solo play," said Dennen. "Registered players receive free new features such as new maps, deck statistics, game handicapping, and various improved production values."

Star Chamber is both a CCG and a turn-based strategy game set in a not-so-distant future where members of the Galactic Republic struggle for power. Players deploy a mixture of military, political, and cultural assets, and attempt to achieve one of the game's multiple victory conditions.

The game can be played for free with sample decks. Star Chamber can be downloaded at www.starchamber.net. The web site offers strategy tips and articles, a calendar of events, forums, and web-based trading.
