This week, Sierra Entertainment shipped Spyro Shadow Legacy for the Nintendo DS, the newest installment of the 17 million-unit-selling Spyro franchise. The action/adventure game introduces magical powers, role playing game (RPG) elements, and martial arts fighting to the beloved Spyro gameplay in a game that is fun for players of all ages.

"Spyro Shadow Legacy returns everyone's favorite video game dragon to gaming with more powers than ever before," said Philip W. O'Neil, Chief Operating Officer and President, North America for Vivendi Universal Games. "Spyro Shadow Legacy gives players a fun and engaging RPG that is jam-packed with action, exploration and adventure and is fun for all gamers, young and old."

Developed by Amaze Entertainment, Spyro Shadow Legacy introduces role playing elements to the Dragon Realms, offering Spyro fans an "RPG light" experience with all new gameplay features. By fighting and defeating creatures in the game, players will earn experience points that improve Spyro's strength and abilities. This RPG element will allow players to use their experience to build Spyro's new magical powers and martial arts combat abilities as the game progresses.

Spyro Shadow Legacy for Nintendo DS leverages all of the technical innovations of the Nintendo DS, including dual screen, touch screen, wireless capabilities and 3D graphics. With touch screen controls, players can draw symbols to cast spells or use the second screen as an overhead map. Players can utilize the Nintendo DS wireless capabilities to trade collectible creatures with other players nearby.

Spyro Shadow Legacy is now available at retail stores for a suggested retail price of $29.99 and an ESRB rating of 'E' for everyone.
