'Rugby 2005' (PS2/Xbox) Roughs Its Way To Retail

by Rainier on March 11, 2005 @ 5:20 a.m. PST

Rugby 2005 incorporates all the major Rugby teams, players, and tournaments, including the Tri-Nations, Super 12 and many more authentic and prestigious events from the world of Rugby. The game incorporates a completely upgraded graphical engine with individually differentiated players, realistic motion-captured player animations, dramatic lighting and cameras, and stadiums that are accurate with details such as crowd reactions, songs, and chants. EA SPORTS Rugby 2005 plays realistically with on-the-fly play-calling, right analog stick controls for fakes and crushing hits and improved kicking control. The game also features a 'Rugby 101' training mode outlining the rules, controls, and tactics of the sport through videos and interactive challenges.

Training modes have been enhanced to teach rugby skills with challenge-based training drills using advanced controls to become the best. The all-new create a player feature enables you to create players based on your own likeness or classic players of the game. Listen to the songs and chants from the major stadiums from around the world and feel the spirit and excitement of rugby.

EA SPORTS Rugby is developed by HB studies in Novia Scotia, Canada. It is available on the PlayStation2 and the Xbox. EA SPORTS Rugby is rated E for everyone by the MSRP and is priced at $39.99.
