Square Enix Promotion Woos Old 'Final Fantasy' Players

Square Enix announced today that it will launch the "Return Home to Vana'diel®" campaign for Final Fantasy XI beginning Thursday, April 14. For a limited time, registration codes will be issued free of charge to allow players to come back to PlayOnline, play Final Fantasy XI, and even recover and play their previous Final Fantasy XI characters.

"In response to players' overwhelming requests to return to the world of FINAL FANTASY XI, we have implemented this simple process for unsubscribed users to regain their characters," said Yasu Kurosawa, North American producer of FINAL FANTASY XI.

Eligible players who are interested in participating should complete the required information on the application form on the official FINAL FANTASY XI website during the April 14, 2005 through July 13, 2005 campaign period. Additional details will appear on the official FINAL FANTASY XI website (http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/).

For players who have deleted FINAL FANTASY XI characters but have not unsubscribed from PlayOnline, Square Enix plans to conduct the "Return Home to Vana'diel Part II" in early June. More details and information on how to participate will be announced at a later date.

Recovered characters are free of charge for 30 days from the day of reactivation. After the first 30 days, a $12.95 monthly fee will be charged for the first recovered character and $1.00/month for each additional character.
