CDV's E3 2005 Lineup - Screens

by Rainier on May 16, 2005 @ 6:12 a.m. PDT

CDV has released new material for its E3 2005 titles. Today we have new screens for titles such as : American Conquest: Nation Divided, Codename Pazers: Phase Two, War Front: Turning Point, and War Leaders: Clash of Nations. Read more to check them out ...

What would happen if Hitler had been assassinated early on in WWII and the German war engine came under control of a new regime? Digital Reality and CDV aim to answer that question in War Front: Turning Point, bringing gamers an "alternate reality" strategy game. Gamers will be exposed to a whole new WWII timeline, new battles and a variety of secret and experimental weapons. Eye-popping graphics and a refreshing plot will keep gamers pinned to their PCs as they attempt to alter or ensure the historical outcome of World War II.

War Front: Turning Point explores an alternate World War II, one in which Hitler is assassinated in the early days. This new timeline includes more than just new leadership. Players will take command of experimental weapons, prototype vehicles and units rarely seen in strategy games in an attempt to alter or secure the historical outcome of World War II.

Codename: Panzers, Phase Two will bring armchair generals to the war-torn battlefields of Africa, Southern Europe and the Balkans where they will fight as the Anglo-American Allies, the German-Italian Axis or the Yugoslavian resistance. A complement of heroes, both new and familiar, will be the players' alter egos in dozens of new missions as they attempt to lead their troops to victory.

In development by Hungarian studio Stormregion, Codename: Panzers, Phase Two builds upon everything gamers loved in the original game while adding new campaigns, missions and units. Players will battle online and offline as any of the three forces in the game (Anglo-American Allies, German-Italian Axis and the Yugoslavian resistance) in competitive and cooperative modes. Phase Two includes more than 20 new combat units, hundreds of fully destructible objects, new battlefield environments and a selection of new heroes to lead armies on the battlefield. A powerful mission editor will allow players to edit and create missions, maps, units and captivating cut-scenes, ensuring that no two games are ever the same.

You will take control of one of the 7 main implied countries in the conflict (Germany, France, England, Russia, USA, Japan and Italy). This will also imply the representative control of:

  • Leaders (Churchill, Stalin, Roosevelt,...)
  • Generals (Patton, Montgomery, Rommel,...)
  • Heroes (Vassili, Major Konig, Marina Raskova,...)
  • Units and Warfare machinery (tanks, planes, infantry, prototypes...)

The goal is simple: to win the war with the help of your allies and, ultimately, conquer the World, being able to really change the course of History, and see this depicted in immersive epoque style videos and narrative sequences.

Therefore you will have the future of WWII in your hands, by playing two clearly differentiated parts that are seamlessly joined in the game: the MANAGER and the RTS battles.

The game aims to take the American Conquest concept into the 19th century, reflecting the nature of the American wars of that period, with their advanced technologies, huge battles and complex strategy, and devastating nature.

The game will feature authentic uniforms and troop types, a wide range of weapons, and battles based on real topographical data and historical sources. With a smaller number of nations in the game, a much wider variety of troop types and uniforms will be possible, resulting in impressive and historically engaging missions. The universally known images of the blue and grey uniforms of the Civil War, and such sights as the church of the Alamo and the grand, almost Napoleonic, armies of Santa Anna will bring these evocative conflicts to life.

The campaigns supplied with the game will follow the great generals through their most famous victories and defeats, and range from modest encounters to the vast battles of Gettysburg and Shiloh, and across terrain varying from the lush forests of the north to the deserts of the far south. The campaigns of the Texas Mexican war, including the famous Alamo siege, will provide a welcome change of pace and some exciting color.

More than 45 scenarios will be included.
