'Battlefield 2' - v1.01 Patch In The Works

by Rainier on July 1, 2005 @ 1:35 a.m. PDT

Battlefield 2 features immense, richly detailed, destructible environments, from city streets to remote forests, in some of the most notorious hot spots around the world. Each map in Battlefield 2 adjusts in scale to support the number of players in the world, providing the ideal vehicle-to-player ratio and an optimized game play experience. Enhanced team play features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their team mates. With in-game success, players increase their rank from recruit all the way to General and unlock awards, including new weapons, vehicle decals, medals, and more.
EA revealed that it quietly has been working on the first Battlefield 2 patch, and it is expected to be released somewhere next week. Every fix in this v1.01 update is a result of Community feedback on the demo and retail game release. A few of the items being worked on are : issues that caused the Multiplayer Browser to become unresponsive, an issue where some game controls were not available to be rebound within the Options menu, and fixed a crash with rebinding LMB. An open Beta of the Battlefield 2 Editor will be released some time in July, and the linux server is almost finished as wel. Of course we will have all of those available on our fileserver network as soon as they are released.
