Midway Europe Signs 'Cocoto Kart Racer' (NDS) and 'Myst' (NDS) - Screens

Midway has not only signed the European publishing rights to Neko Entertainment's fast and fun-packed GBA title Cocoto Kart Racer, but also for Myst (excluding South Africa, Australia & New Zealand) on NDS.

DS owners will be able to choose from a mixture of 12 different good ‘n’ evil characters and their crazy karts. The game’s two modes of play feature a racing championship and a pick-up-and-play race across 15 mind-boggling tracks. Devastating attacks crank the action up a gear – especially when playing across the Wifi multiplayer network.

Leonie Manshanden, European Marketing Director, Midway Games Ltd, said, “Neko Entertainment’s Cocoto Kart Racer is the perfect game for DS owners of all ages, and we’re delighted to be working closely with Neko on this release.”

Myst made the successful transition to a handheld format last year, releasing on PSP and demonstrating the timeless, engaging experience that’s unique to the series. The DS development of the original game will embrace many of the hardware features only available on this format. Control elements like the touch screen will allow players to interact on a level that’s never been possible before.

There are no instructions and the player begins a voyage of exploration without encountering a single living soul. Alone on a mysterious island, you set out to explore its grandeur and mystery. Here a chilling tale of intrigue and injustice, defying all boundaries of space and time, is being told. Quickly, though, it becomes clear every action can somehow help unfortunate individuals trapped somewhere in a parallel dimension. The Myst adventure is like no other, tantalizing with its unique combination of lavish environments, puzzles, mazes, and a sizzling underlying drama which steadily unfolds to reward the player further still. More details about the game and release information will be made available shortly.

Leonie Manshanden, European Marketing Director, Midway Games Ltd, said, “Myst lends itself well to portable formats, as we saw from the PSP release. The DS will add an extra dimension using the touch screen, and the game matches this handheld’s expanding demographic perfectly.”
