CDV Brings 'Stranger' to North America

by Rainier on Jan. 21, 2008 @ 5:15 p.m. PST

Stranger is a real-time strategy game, with elements of role playing games set in a world, split in two parts, surface and a subterranean one, which are in a tenuous balance. Stranger will also feature multiplayer, although details beyond "The players may play on their own, or unite in teams" are a bit sketchy.

Stranger is a blend of traditional real-time strategy and role-playing elements, set in a rich fantasy world populated by more than a hundred unique monster types. Players will take control of one of three available heroes, enjoying a single-player campaign lasting more than 30 hours, while also being able to take their game online in eight-person Internet multiplayer matches.

An innovative magical system allows to select one's strategy and tactics in the course of a battle and thus giving an adequate answer to an enemy's turn - you will be surprised by its simplicity and variety at the same time. Hiring, training and control over squads of infantry and archers - you will take part in clarification of the eternal question of what more is important - might and weapon or cunning and magic. There are three heroes - different from each other, each one with own personality and preferences in combat and magic. What will happen when they assemble in a single squad? Colorful universe of Stranger inhabited not only with hundreds of types of monsters but also with intelligent tribes, which can either be your allies or enemies.
