Good Old Games Adds 'Stronghold Crusader' And 'Gothic 2 Gold'

by Rainier on Feb. 3, 2009 @ 5:42 p.m. PST

A little while back Good Old Games signed an agreement with FireFly Studios to add its historic RTS series, starting with Stronghold and now it has also added Stronghold: Crusader. Also added is JoWood's third-person role-playing game Gothic 2 Gold.

Stronghold Crusader ($9.99)

The game is set in the Middle-East, in the bloody times of the Crusades. It's very similar to its predecessor, but adds many new features and changes. Most notably you can now field eight new units, including an additional siege engine, Arabian mercenaries and even assassins to aid you in sieges and assaults. The game is more focused on combat, with fewer economical campaigns than in the first Stronghold. Last, but not least, you'll get to play the "Crusader Trail" - a skirmish mode with 50 missions for you to survive and best.

Gothic 2 Gold ($9.99)

Gothic 2 Gold is a third-person role-playing game by Piranha Bytes. The game's storyline picks up where the first part left off, three months after the protagonist the Nameless Hero, is rescued by Xardas. He soon learns he has much yet to do, as Khorins faces another threat. Its only means of salvation lies in an ancient artifact - the Eye of Innos - which lies in the hands of Lord Hagen, leader of the paladins. If he fails to retrieve it, war and ruin will befall the land. If you want to get hyped some more, check out the intro movies on our YouTube channel.
