Microsoft Launches Games for Windows Marketplace

by Rainier on Nov. 15, 2010 @ 1:00 p.m. PST

Microsoft's new Games for Windows Marketplace launched today. Now consumers will be able to take full advantage of the great PC gaming content and deals on the Marketplace.

Games for Windows Marketplace makes finding and purchasing your favorite PC games simple, combining the convenience of the Web with the power of Games on Demand.  Optimized for speed, the store allows for ultra-fast downloads, meaning fewer clicks to purchase and download and faster turnaround for gameplay. All you need is a Windows Live ID and you can immediately start shopping. You can also conveniently buy games with Microsoft Points, debit and credit cards.

Last month, Microsoft announced  some of the top partners that will be on board at launch including Capcom, 2K Games and Square Enix.  Today, we are excited to announce that Activision will also be delivering their amazing titles to the Marketplace including blockbuster hits like “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.”

To celebrate the launch, the Games for Windows Marketplace will be hosting a week long “Daily Deal” campaign, with a progressively better discounted title  each day, culminating in a final deal that your readers won’t want to miss. To kick things off, today’s Daily Deal is “Grand Theft Auto IV” at 40% off the original price! If the deals are starting at 40% off, you can only imagine how low they can go!
