Gods & Heroes is a massively multiplayer RPG of mythic adventure in the ancient world featuring epic God Powers, intense squad-based combat, and creatures drawn from the myths and legends of the ancient world.

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is a Roman mythology themed Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) game.

Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising is a full scale action adventure MMO that immerses the audience in Roman mythology. Players step into a hero’s sandals to battle monsters and command minions while seeking favor from the gods.

In Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising, gamers take on the role of a Demigod and celebrated hero of the Roman army. These brave warriors set out on a quest for vengeance against an ancient enemy, the Telchine gods, who have returned to topple the empire and avenge their defeat at the hands of the Olympian gods.

“For nearly a year, we’ve worked closely with our dedicated closed beta testers, an incredible community that has helped us make Gods & Heroes something unique and compelling,” said Executive Producer and Heatwave CEO Anthony Castoro. “Now that we’re in the final phase of the game development and testing, we’re looking forward to opening the Gods & Heroes experience to a broader audience.”

The Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising open beta lets players experience the game’s massive world filled with ancient lands, dramatic combat and mythological creatures two weeks before the game ships. Open Beta testers will be able to play four character classes, a revised new player experience, personal estates, a minion system, an updated combat system and 14 levels of gameplay. Players who pre-order the game during the Open Beta, can then join the Head Start program and start playing the full game a week before the box hits the shelves.

Future defenders of Rome can join the open beta now through June 12, 2011 by registering at the official website.

While battling in the midst of Roman landmarks and legendary scenery, players will also experience:

  • Fully Customizable Estates -The Hero's goal is to regain the power of the gods and rebuild their Ancestral Estate. Players can customize their estate with new buildings and structures that affect how their army of minions levels up and gains new powers and bring rare objects and resources back to their estate by completing quests throughout the game.
  • Unique Squad-Based Minion System - Players can build their own squad of minions that level up with them. From fellow Roman soldiers to mythological creatures, squad members are earned, awarded and purchased as players progress through the game.
  • Intense Combat Action - Expect intense combat where heroes will wield an arsenal of weapons and the powers of the gods themselves to perform combat moves which can be linked together, including dramatic finishing moves for intense battle sequences
