'Batman: Arkham City' (ALL) Game of the Year Edition Bundles DLCs

by Rainier on April 23, 2012 @ 9:52 a.m. PDT

Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum, sending players soaring into Arkham City, the new maximum security "home" for all of Gotham City's thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds.

Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district in the heart of Gotham City, this sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new, all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.

When night falls on Gotham and the seedy undergrowth of the city emerges, Batman is there waiting. Ever vigilant, the Dark Knight monitors the city he protects from high above the gritty streets. No one knows his deepest secret — except Dr. Hugo Strange. With Gotham's criminally insane, vile villains and insidious characters confined within the walls of Arkham City, Batman must fight to ensure his true identity remains hidden from the citizens he vows to protect. The Dark Knight returns to Gotham in the follow-up to Arkham Asylum in Batman: Arkham City. Explore this all-new world that spans five times larger than the Asylum using a variety of new and enhanced gameplay features. Glide, soar and grapple through the City as you engage in hand-to-hand combat against enemies or take advantage of Batman's trademark stealth maneuvers. Interact with an infamous cast of classic characters, including Dr. Hugo Strange, who knows the deep, dark secret of the Caped Crusader.

As Catwoman, players will have a chance to indulge in their darker side and explore Arkham City as the infamous feline femme fatale.  Complete with her own storyline in the main game, Catwoman’s adventure complements Batman’s central role and is seamlessly interwoven with his main story arc.  She will also be playable in the challenge maps with her own unique combat moves, gadgetry and signature 'takedowns'.

Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition, fans can extend the multi-award winning experience as the Dark Knight with Harley Quinn’s Revenge, the final chapter in Batman: Arkham City that adds more than two hours of original gameplay to the critically-acclaimed interactive title.  Also included on disc will be all five previously released downloadable content (DLC) packs, as well as a Batman Year One movie download *(restrictions apply).

The Harley Quinn’s Revenge mission sends players back into Arkham City to face their final challenge as they interchange between playing as both Batman and Robin.  Gamers must utilize each of the characters' unique combat and investigative skills to uncover Harley's vengeful plan and shut the gates on the urban mega-prison forever.  In addition to experiencing a new storyline, fans can explore new environments and face-off against Harley’s all new gang of thugs.

The DLC included on disc includes the Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Arkham City Skins Pack.  All told, Batman: Arkham City Game of the Year Edition packages new gameplay content, seven maps, three playable characters, and 12 skins beyond the original retail release:

  • Maps:  Wayne Manor, Main Hall, Freight Train, Black Mask, The Joker’s Carnival, Iceberg Long, and Batcave
  • Playable Characters:  Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing
  • Skins:  1970s Batsuit, Year One Batman, The Dark Knight Returns, Earth One Batman, Batman Beyond Batman, Animated Batman, Sinestro Corps Batman, Long Halloween Catwoman, Animated Catwoman, Animated Robin, Red Robin and Animated Nightwing

The expanded version of Batman: Arkham City is scheduled for release in North America starting May 29, and in Europe, Australia and other global territories in September 2012. Fans who already own an original boxed edition of Batman: Arkham City can experience the new gameplay by downloading the Harley Quinn’s Revenge Pack on that same day.
