by Rainier on July 17, 2014 @ 10:44 p.m. PDT

Darkwood is an open-world survival horror with RPG, roguelike and adventure elements, seen from a top-down perspective.

Darkwood is a game about survival, exploration and fear, set in a mysterious forest somewhere in the territory of the Soviet Bloc. It is a top-down, open wo rld surreal horror experience with a randomized world. By blending RPG, roguelike and adventure elements together with a challenging difficulty, Darkwood aims to please players craving for a deep, atmospheric and rewarding experience.

When confronted with a unknown entity, you are forced to decide: run for it, or make a stand and fight. Even simple actions that seem to only exist in the gameplay itself can make a impact on Darkwood's world, resonating through eternity, like a church bell in an otherwordly plane.

Darkwood will launch for PC, Mac and Linux on Steam Early Access on July 24th, and will be priced at $14.99.
