'Infinite Air Featuring Mark McMorris' (ALL) Announced

by Rainier on March 7, 2016 @ 9:52 a.m. PST

Mark McMorris Infinite Air is the first open-world, physics-based snowboarding video game built in partnership and close collaboration with top snowboarder Mark McMorris.

Infinite Air boasts vast, customizable mountain ranges and a highly reactive, fluid control system, promising to be the most authentic snowboarding game to date.

With the ability to sculpt terrain in an endless backcountry, publish your best runs, participate in Halfpipe, Slopestyle and Big Air competitions, and challenge friends online, Infinite Air combines the exciting social aspects of snowboarding with the exhilaration of a hyper-realistic experience on the snow. Infused with the riding style of Mark McMorris, and featuring the top athlete as a playable character in the game, Infinite Air will focus on real world physics to give players a genuine taste of the sport.

Players will have an unparalleled amount of riding expression at their fingertips as they master skills -- whether shredding infinite powder-laden runs or testing their abilities on custom courses. They will also have the option to place rails, jumps and other obstacles just about anywhere to build their own unique terrain parks. With procedurally generated mountains and a deep editor that lets players produce and share their creations for the world to ride, Infinite Air brings the mountain to you ...

“We could not be happier to be working with HB Studios again,” said Christina Seelye, CEO of Maximum Games. “They are masters at creating in-depth sports games and making the thrill of sports accessible to everyone.”

“The fascinating thing about video games is that they open up possibilities that wouldn’t be an option in real life, and Infinite Air is the ultimate example of that,” said Peter Garcin, Executive Producer at HB Studios. “We’d all love to snowboard like Mark, and now with this game, we all can.”

With immense talent and a healthy dose of charisma, Canadian Mark McMorris is one of snowboarding's leading men. The Saskatchewan native has staked his claim in the sport, possessing 12 X Games medals under his belt along with 2 US Open wins, Dew Tour wins and many other accolades to date. In 2012, Mark became only the second person to ever win double gold at the Winter X Games (Big Air and Slopestyle); it was also that year that Mark took home the Transworld Rider’s Poll Rookie of the Year award. As one of Canada’s top Winter Olympic hopefuls, all eyes were on McMorris in Sochi, 2014. After winning silver at the Winter X Games despite suffering a broken rib in Slopestyle finals only ten days prior, Mark shocked the world and walked away with the bronze medal in Slopestyle and continues to push his limits to grab gold. Mark has shown nothing short of greatness in 2016, taking wins at Dew Tour, Laax Open, and X Games, as well as Rider of the Year awards from both Transworld Snowboarding and Snowboarder Magazines.
