'GTFO' - New Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on Dec. 7, 2017 @ 8:37 p.m. PST

GTFO is a 4-player co-op action/horror FPS game, made for hardcore gamers looking for a true challenge.

In GTFO, you and your friends will explore hostile and terrifying environments where, in an instant, you are thrown from edge-of-your-seat suspense to frantic action. It’s a large-scale experience, testing players in their ability to gear up and adapt to an endless string of unknown and ever-changing challenges.

10 Chambers Collective consists in part of founding members of Overkill Software and the game designer behind the PAYDAY franchise. With GTFO, they aim to explore and develop the 4-player co-op formula even further.

GTFO is a game with a thick atmosphere intercut by intense action - and the experienced development team shows its strengths in all aspects of the presentation.

The trailer starts where the previous teaser trailer ended; in an elevator descending deep into an underground tunnel system at a furious pace. Next, we follow a team of 4 players, as they cooperatively explore the creepy complex. The voice-over and visuals allude to an apocalyptic narrative - a story they’ve brought in Adam Gascoine to write, known for his previous work on games such as The Last of Us and DOOM.

“The narrative of GTFO encourages exploration and discovery. The more you play a character, the more you learn about them - like how they ended up as scavengers trying to survive in this grisly and disturbing underworld called The Complex,” says Adam Gascoine, writer of GTFO.

Later in the trailer, the players are seen accidentally triggering an alarm that quickly attracts a horde of terrifying monsters. It’s clear that the game experience ranges from stealthy exploration and puzzle solving to intense action.

“The unpredictability and replayability of GTFO is unrivaled in the co-op FPS genre - you and your teammates will never know your way or where the monsters are. You have to use all the tools at your disposal and really be on your toes to get whatever edge you can get” says Ulf Andersson, founder of 10 Chambers Collective.

Simon Viklund continues: “GTFO challenges players to communicate and coordinate. The game’s slogan - ‘work together or die together’ - really says it all: If you merely ‘stay together’ or ‘shoot together’ you’ll just die in a pretty formation. Working together is imperative. GTFO will put you and your co-op team to the test.”

GTFO will be released 2018.
