'Impact Winter' (ALL) Gets Delayed On PC

by Rainier on April 3, 2017 @ 11:43 a.m. PDT

Impact Winter is a post-apocalyptic survival RPG that deals with the themes of leadership, teamwork, isolation and survival.

The year is 2018 and the world we once knew is no more – the planet is buried deep beneath a constant snowfall after a devastating asteroid collision. Supplies are scarce and each day provides a tougher challenge for survival than the last. Suddenly, Ako-Light, your robot companion, receives a radio transmission that changes everything…

Help is coming in 30 days.

With one month to survive a harsh environment, players take the role of Jacob Solomon and work with his makeshift team of four other individuals, each specialized in their own skill sets, to scour the land to find supplies, craft new tools and items, and stay united as a team to stave off the hostile winter before help arrives.

Originally scheduled for release on PC starting April 12, 2017, Impact Winter has been pushed until May 223, 2017 with the PS4 and Xbox One versions to become available digitally later in 2017 as previously planned.

“Unfortunately Impact Winter will now release a little later than expected, hitting Steam on 23rd May 2017. Why the delay? Well, the truth is, IMPACT WINTER has become a LOT bigger than we first expected: a pretty complex beast with lots of different systems and mechanics. Everything is in place, but one of our main priorities in the run up to release has been making sure that the initial stages of the game aren’t too overwhelming and that the overall experience is evenly balanced. Given the scope of the project and our team size it’s taking a little longer than expected. Ultimately, it’s all in aid of giving everyone the best experience possible which is the No.1 priority” explained Stuart Ryall Co-Founder and Designer at Mojo Bones Ltd.. “On the flip side, we’ve had some really positive feedback from our playtest sessions and the game is shaping up to be something unique, and definitely a lot more than we envisioned all those years ago.”
