'Total War: Warhammer II' Introduces The Lizardmen - Screens & Trailer

by Rainier on May 11, 2017 @ 10:59 a.m. PDT

Total War: Warhammer II takes the strategy game series to a realm of grand high fantasy, this time unveiling the mystery-shrouded continents far to the west of The Old World.

Featuring four iconic new races from the Warhammer Fantasy Battles world – the High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and a fourth yet to be revealed – players will battle across enchanted isles, bleak hinterlands, treacherous swamps, and perilous jungles.

In a Total War campaign like no other, players will struggle for dominion over the ailing Great Vortex that has swirled for millennia above the elven homeland of Ulthuan. Performing a series of arcane rituals, each race must save or disrupt the Vortex according to their motivations – a struggle culminating in a cataclysmic endgame. Territorial conquest is no longer enough… this is a race for control that will define the fate of the world!

Total War: Warhammer II will offer hundreds of hours of immersive gameplay in this epic new campaign. Furthermore, a huge combined campaign map featuring the old and new world regions will be available for free shortly after release to players who own both Total War: WARHAMMER I & II.

Roaring out of the dense jungles of Lustria, these ancient, cold-blooded warriors are the servants of the Old Ones, enactors of the Great Plan and the true protectors of the world.

Along with the High Elves, Dark Elves, and one race yet to be announced, the Lizardmen are one of the four playable races in Total War: WARHAMMER II, and will be playable on the show floor at this year's E3 in the first hands-on build of the game.

Brought low in millennia past by the daemonic incursions of The Great Cataclysm, their grand civilisation now lies in ruin. But a handful of Slann Mage priests still live, and with them hope – that their people may rise anew. Tireless in their quest to restore order to the world, the Lizardmen field a glittering diversity of scaled warriors, from the humble, nimble Skink, to the titanic Carnasaur: apex-predator of the Lustrian jungles.

Total War: Warhammer II will be available in 2017 for PC.
