'FIFA 18' (ALL) Soundtrack Revealed

by Rainier on Sept. 18, 2017 @ 8:05 a.m. PDT

FIFA 18 blurs the line between the virtual and real worlds, bringing to life the heroes, teams, and atmospheres of the world's game.

To deliver innovation in FIFA 18, Cristiano Ronaldo’s data was recently recorded during a training session at a mobile EA Capture studio in Madrid. Data capture of Ronaldo’s acceleration, run cadence, skills, and shooting technique were all recorded to bring veracity to his likeness and personality in FIFA 18. His data also informed important gameplay elements including fluidity, player responsiveness and explosiveness.

When it comes to global music events, our strategy for EA Sports FIFA 18 is to change the game — again.

We’re talking a soundtrack that truly reflects the World's Game, with more than 40 songs from artists representing over a dozen countries, an original cinematic score for ‘The Journey: Hunter Returns’ on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and FIFA Ultimate Team™ kits from some of our soundtracks’ biggest alumni and current superstars.

In FIFA 18, you'll hear:

  • New tracks by international hitmakers Lorde, alt-J, The War On Drugs, The National, Portugal. The Man, The xx, blistering Belgian rapper Baloji, an unreleased song from UK art rockers Django Django, and an all-new & exclusive banger from Run The Jewels.
  • The next wave of Grime superstars, with fierce tracks from Avelino featuring Skepta and Stormzy, and a never-before-heard anthem from Sneakbo featuring Giggs.
  • Independent artists like Seattle-based electronic duo ODESZA, UK rockers Slowdive, and breakoutAustralian singer/songwriter Tash Sultana.
  • FIFA first-timers including L.A.’s Sir Sly, UK singer/songwriter Tom Grennan, and a brand-new unreleased track from New Zealand’s Kimbra.
  • New artists like American alt-folk performer Mondo Cozmo, London duo IDER, Britpop rockers The Amazons and Kovic, the ‘70s vibe of Bad Sounds, Danish pop-punkers Off Bloom, UK singer/songwriter Rex Orange County, and thebrain-melting collective Superorganism.

The return of Alex Hunter in The Journey also features an original score by Junkie XL, famed for his scoring ofbig-screen hits like Mad Max: Fury Road, Divergent, Deadpool, and Wonder Woman, and his score for ‘The Journey: Hunter Returns’ is absolutely up there with these cinematic triumphs. Reflecting Hunter's tour of the football world, the mode also features tracks by Brazilian artists Leo Justi and Karol Conka, Colombia’s Bomba Estero and Systema Solar, American rock band Weezer, and many more.

Let’s talk FUT kits, especially since last year’s kits designed by soundtrack artists Zedd, Major Lazer, and Kasabian were among the game’s hottest gear. This year, FIFA 18 pre-orders will receive access to all-new Special Edition FUT kits from Capital Cities, Glass Animals, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Bloc Party, Grouplove, Saint Motel, Zhu, and Lemaitre.

A forward for both Real Madrid C.F. and the Portugal national team, Ronaldo is frequently ranked the best player in the world and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. Ronaldo was named FIFA Men’s Player of the Year in 2016, and recently scored his 100th goal in European competition, the first player ever to do so. He is Portugal’s most-capped player, with 138 appearances for the national team, as well as Portugal’s all-time top goal-scorer. He has also won the coveted Ballon d’OR and the Golden Boot, among a multitude of other accolades.

Those who pre-order the Ronaldo Edition of FIFA 18 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC will receive three-day early access, up to $60 worth of additional content, including 20 jumbo premium gold packs (1 per week for 20 consecutive weeks), eight special edition FIFA Ultimate Team™ kits designed by artists on the FIFA 18 soundtrack and a Cristiano Ronaldo loan player for five FUT matches.

FIFA 18 fans can get their hands on the full game before launch day, with Ronaldo Edition and ICON Edition owners getting three-day early access, letting them start playing on Tuesday, September 26, while EA Access and Origin Access members can enjoy up to 10 hours of play time starting Thursday, September 21 as part of the EA Access and Origin Access Play First Trial.

FIFA 18 will be available worldwide on September 29 for, PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS3 and Xbox 360.
